Ive uploaded a photo to my test site and although it's in file manager ok it is not visible on the preview page. tried editing it through file manager and the edit facility fell over saying it could not load the photo. not big jpg pic either (about 90 kb). Any ideas as the help facility yesterday were not able to advise. Plus facility to change my password doesnt work (hit lost password at login screen and it just freezes up).

Hi John,

First of all make sure your using either a new verison of Firefox or Internet Explorer - i.e. Not Chrome. - The password retrieval button should work.

About the picture not showing - If you are adding it normally (through a text widget or picture widget) then perhaps there is a foriegn character in the file name... file names should be simply english characters only.

If your adding the file manually through code make sure it is in the correct case - file names are case sensitive.

Lee.

If the above does not help then leave your URL and image filenames and i'll take a closer look for you.

Did you only upload to file manager or did you place an image widget on your page then upload to file manager?

Hi Lee, I will check but it was a standard looking name. Whole site seems problematic today - now I cant log in to check. Looks like Im rapidly running out of interest in this site builder and as a freelancer I dont have time for that

Hi Lee - you hit the nail. I changed file name so it didnt have any spaces or the standard underscore in pic file names e.g. IMG_1234 and now its loaded. Thanks a lot.

The issue is that Yola probably uses a Unix/Linux server to host, if so then Windows file naming rules don't apply. In Unix a file name ends at the first ooccurance of a space (ASCII code 32) in the string. Also Unix environments are case sensitive, which "wintel" envitonments tend not to be.

I too have been caught out by stuff that works in preview but not once published.
