Hello rizan,

the answer is yes. I think there are a number of ways to do this.

The easiest I have found is to create an album and embed it on the site. Check out their slide shows also. It's a while since I checked but at one stage Picassa slide shows were the best around.

I was able to embed slideshows but, not sure how I would embed an album.....the same way I guess!
As you can probably tell, I'm so new to website stuff! Thanks Peter.

What I like about Picassa is if you have it downloaded to your desk top you can upload to your Picassa web albums right from your desk top.

John, thats an intersting thought, I never thought to do that! How do I download to my desktop...sure I can figure it out after 4-5 hours but, maybe speedier if you give me a hint. Thanks John!

Well wait, now that I think about it, I'm not able to download from Adobe or ZoomBrowser, which are on my desktop, am I doing something wrong?

Not sure what you could be doing wrong on the other programs...Here is the link to Googles page where you can down load Picassa for your desktop.....After you install and open it you will see it gathers every photo you have on your computer...Comes in handy for me anyway.....http://www.google.com/intl/en/options/

John, I do have it on my desktop, guess I should have been clearer, but, when I open select image from "your computer" and I check from desk top my only choices are my Docs, my Comuter, network places and system drives. I cant get to my other photo programs. Am I missing something? Its frustrating because on my desktop, I do have Picassa, Adobe, HP Photos and ZoomBrowser but, can only access the "my photos" file....Sorry, I feel really stupid right now.

Please you are not stupid.....Stupid is not asking for help on things we don't know. There are many here including a great staff that will always try to help you....The first thing we need to determine is if you have the latest version of Picassa because early versions did not have the web upload feature.

Hi Rizan22,

Perhaps this information may help you:

You can use Picasa Web Albums to create a Flash slideshow to embed in your site. Each slideshow features built-in playback controls, size options, and the ability to display captions.

To create and embed a slideshow:

1. Sign in to your Google Account for Picasa Web Albums using your Google Account username and password.
2. Click the 'My Photos' link and select the album you'd like to make a slideshow.
3. Click on the 'Link to this album' - at the right of your screen.
4. Then click the 'Embed Slideshow' link. This creates a Flash slideshow from the album you've selected. When you update this album, your slideshow is automatically updated to show the latest photos.
5. To embed the slideshow, copy and paste the HTML code that's shown into an HTML widget on your blog or webpage.

Just to highlight point 4, whey you update your album your slideshow is automatically updated to show the latest photos.

Please let us know if you need more help with this.

I seem to recall that someone said that you can password protect your slide to the general public but still embed the slideshow on the website? Can someone please determine if this is in fact true? I don't want to download the Picasa thing to find out it's not true.

Also.. does Picasa allow you to determine the size of the slideshow?

Yep It's true littleus. Did it today.

You can send a link or embed with a code.

You create albums and the slideshow can hang off this.

Sure littleus.

Here's two of using Picassa albums in different ways.

Here is a direct collage from Picassa: http://sribuaban.synthasite.com/what-...

And here is a slideshow from Peach with a feed from Picassa: http://sribuaban.synthasite.com/

There are a growing number of third party add-ons for Picasssa. various Slide show formats and so on.

Thanks for letting me take a look. The collage looks cool but I don't like that you can click on it and it takes you away from the site.

I'm intrigued by the slideshow feature from Peach.

Thanks Peter for sharing! I'm still thinking about this! I want to replace my Wowzio widget as it seems to be slowing down my site. So..... just trying to think of what to do! =)

Even if you don't use slide show features the Picassa image storage is fantastic as it always synchronises your pc and the Picasssa storage.

There are so many places that will take a Picassa feed for slides etc I have found it invaluable. Just the ease of sending an email link with one of your albums is really convenient.

There are ways of preventing people clicking to go out of the show back to Picassa also.

I've been using it since Picassa 2 so it's quite an established facility.

Wow, thanks for all the replies. But, I was actually wondering about loading individual pictures. I am familiar with the slide shows, I have 3 posted on my site, its the individual picture I cant seem to figure out. I would prefer to upload from Picasa rather than "my computer".

Thanks

If I understand you correctly Rizan.. you just want to embed an image into your site? You can do this two ways:

1. You can drag an image widget from the right hand side of your site builder, under content. It'll ask you where to get the image from - your computer or your file manager.

2. You can also use a text widget and then use the image function in that text widget.

Is this what you're looking for? Please let us know if you need further assistance.

Hello Rizan,

You can do this also. For instance you could create a collage with one image only. Arrange it with any of the Picasa collage features then simply embed it on your page. There would be other ways to manage the direct feed/embed from Picasa also eg create a one image album and set the display for a very long time. it would appear to be a static image.
