Picture problems

I am having a really hard time with the pictures tonight.
#1. I can open the picture manager but if I click to open a file in picture manager, the load time to open files is long and sometimes times out.
#2. When I am inside of TEXT and add two or three pictures, the pictures load but if I move them with drag and drop it breaks the pictures.
#3. From inside of picture manager, I select a picture and hit edit. The picture loads to picnik after some time but if I hit any of the tabs, then a large white box or blank area covers 1/4 of the screen making it impossible to edit or save back to synthasite. This happens especially when I try to add text to a picture.

I am using firefox, I am currently working on www.ahouseofcourage.synthasite.com

njoyn,

What a frustration.

First thing is close and lock windows to prevent the impulse of "out'!
Then I would try and clear the cache. Why? because in times like this you gotta do something!

I went through similar things the other evening so I sympathise. None of those recommendations worked.

Next day Fine.

I hope you get a quick fix on this. :)

Hi Peter, thanks so much for always being there. I do need to speak with you on something else as well. Drop me a line on through my website when you get a moment.
As for the above, how do you close and lock out windows?

No Ruth I am sorry to say that all of the problems remain the same accept that access to the files inside of picture manager have increased in time. I am doing my best to work around the issues but it is a bit frustrating.

Hi John, I don't think so because if I access picnik straight from their site, the problem doesnt happen. Only if I access picnik through the picture manager does this come up. This problem I can work around as I am not dependent on the problem. On the other hand, the broken images happen when I am in the text section of yola, if I drag and drop a picture to another location, then the images break.

Hi njoy,

Yes, that does sound frustrating. Are you dragging an image out of the text widget and then dropping it elsewhere on the page? Are you dropping it into another widget of some sort. I have just tested PicNik and am not able to replicate that error. I can say that I have seen that before for brief periods of time, but it eventually goes away, but it is quite an eye sore for sure. I am going to check into this and see what I can find out. Please let us know if this doesn't remedy itself sooner than later.

Thanks as always for you patience!

sometimes I have similar problems but not generally with picnic, instead it could be anything in general... I've come to the conclusion to close your browsers completely, clear your cache (cookies, etc) from internet options and then restart internet options... it's a pain in the butt... but hopefully it doesn't happen often.

The problem with the picnik is that it covers the save to synthasite button rendering the program useless. As for the dragging and dropping, I am only working in one text box. For example I am adding 3 pictures inside of text then try to switch the order and poof they disappear. Let me see if I can get a screen shot for you. BTW, I did clear out the cache, restarted the computer and also ran a virus check....anything just to try like peter said earlier.

in the pic above you can see that order of pictures....second picture is showing dragging and dropping inside of the very same text just moving the picture over one...third pic is what happens.

Hi Ina,
To add pictures to your page you can either:

1. Drag and drop an image widget onto your page. The image widget (component) is located in the "Properties" sidebar on the right of your screen directly below the icon marked "Text"
2. The file manager dialogue box will pop up. You will have the option to upload images from your computer or choose from images which have already been uploaded to your File Manager.
3. To upload a picture from your computer, click on the first option: "Select" next to "Your Computer". A second box will pop up and you will be able to browse your computer's folders to select a file to upload.
4. Click on the uploaded picture file you want to add and click "OK" and the image will be added to your page.

Or:

1. Drag and drop a text widget onto your page.
2. Click "insert image" on the text editing toolbar (the icon that looks like a green tree in a picture frame, roughly in the middle of the toolbar).
3. The file manager will open up and allow you to browse for and select an image, as described above.
4. Using the text widget allows you to insert a number of pictures in the same text box. You can add as many pictures in a row as your chosen style will support. Separate each picture by one or two spaces for the best results.
