I want to create a blog and monetize it although it would seem that this is not possible since ads can't be integrated onto blog templates - Is there a way around this?

็Hi Jim,

This is the beginning I think of a new Yola plan for Blogs. In another thread Monique has suggested that Yola blog mark2 is beginning a conceptual phase :)

The only workaround I can think of is ads on the page of the blog but unfortunately not in the body of the blog.

Any ideas you have I'm sure would be most happily considered.

Hi Jim

Peter is correct. Right now the only option is to use the HTML editor to embed custom ad code outside of the actual blogpost. Let us know if this sounds like something that could work for you as an interim measure and if you need instructions on how to do this.

We will be looking to enhance our blogging functionality in future. One of the frequently requested options is the ability to embed advertising and tracking code and other types of javascript directly inside a blogpost. I will make sure our developers are aware of the demand for this feature.

Wow, Sounds Great!, yea I would like some more info on embedding HTML Ad codes "outside" the blog post if you can provide that for me, and other users who may be interested in using this alternative method.

Thanks, Paul.

Hi Jim,
You can put Ads on your site either above the blog, to the side of the blog or below the blog. Basically anywhere that you can drag an individual html or Google AdSense widget you can put an ad.

Are you wanting to use Google AdSense? Here is an example of an AdSense advert on a blog page. The Google AdSense widget was put underneath the Tags widget and the code pasted in.

To get AdSense code and put it on your page:

1. Open the Advertising folder and drag and drop the Adsense widget onto your page.
2. A dialogue box will open, click on the link in the dialogue box to sign up for an Adsense account if you don't already have one.
3. Once you've registered your account and customised your ad, copy the advertising code provided by Google.
4. Paste the code back in the dialogue box on your Yola.
5. Click "OK".

Let us know if you have further questions about this.

Kind Regards,
Emmy
