Hi, I am posting this here as the Planned Features section has not been updated in over 1 year !!

What features are being planned by Yola please ? ? can someone communicate this to us please ?

Yola has really fell behind the other providers big time now, I will not name them out of respect. I was just on another provider's site and I am sorry to say they simply blow Yola away in features now for around the same price.

I have 5 sites built under my paid account, and I promote Yola all the time to my clients, but I see the Yola platform is outdated now and lacking many features that are now common for all your competitors. The templates have been updated Lately but they are for the most part poor.

Below are some very basic features that have been asked for many many times, and the response from Yola is always the same, you can paste the code into your site.

A widget to provide a slider with different options such as fade in/out etc....
Twitter/facebook feed widgets
Fly over menu for premium templates (not free)
Ability to change menu size/color

I would rather they finish the last new features like fixing mobile sites and as you say....the fly over menu on all styles.
The mobile site feature on a scale of 1 to 10 is a 1, zero being no mobile website at all. I have customers telling me to turn off the feature as it is so poor. The eCommerce solution was also very poorly integrated, Ecwid offers built in SEO and a mobile cart, both of which can not be used on Yola. The forums themselves are dead with no Yola presence at all. what happened ?

Not sure what happened and I will say one of the best things about Yola was this forum. I used to be one of the Champs here and often called this forum Yola University. I knew nothing about making and promoting a site when I started out.

Yola staff are still very much present here. While we definitely miss your presence here KanThaiDecor, we still believe this is a great place to gain a deeper understanding of the things you can accomplish using Yola.

Hello Roger,

We appreciate you sharing your feedback and the types of improvements and features you'd like to see. Although I am not able to disclose at this point the upcoming features we'd like to release, I can assure you that Yola is working hard to incorporate some exciting features.

I would like to hear more about the Twitter/Facebook feeds feature you've suggested. We currently offer Facebook Like, Facebook Comments, as well as an integrated Twitter button on our Share Me widget. What were you hoping to see in addition to this?

The other thing I wanted to touch upon was the ability to control the menu size and color. This can be achieved through the Site CSS feature.

Continue to share your feedback with us. We love getting them as it helps us to continually improve.
Hi Sanja, What features are coming up please ? not sure why the secret ?

why is it 5 years and longer to get a slider widget in Yola ?

Twitter and Facebook feed would be showing recent activity on the twitter and facebook pages on the Yola website.

Yes I know about using CSS to add functionality that is what I referred to in my post, did you not see it ?

thx

Hi Roger,

We understand how disappointing it can be when the features you want most aren't the ones we prioritize. That said, it is the job of our engineers and product team to work on the features and updates they believe will have the most impact for the largest number of our users. We are very open about the features we release on our blog and we also discuss the reasons why we chose to focus on certain projects there when appropriate whether it be due to user request, market research or internal company goals.

The code for the social media feeds you refer to can be obtained on the developer pages Facebook and Twitter and added to your site with the HTML widget. As a savvy user you are likely already aware of this but I thought I would point it out for others who may be reading here. A deeper integration is not planned at this time.
