Dear yola
My name is charlotter rex and I purchased the following domain: www.snaporart.com from you.
I have built a site on Wix.com. Please connect my domain to their name servers- ns1.wix.com and ns2.wix.com .

 Hi Charlotte

Keeping your domain when you change websites can definitely help with your Google page rankings.  On Yola, you are able to set up your domain to point to another website host yourself.  Here are the steps to follow to point your domain to Wix:

  1. Login to your Yola account.

  2. Go to My Yola.

  3. Click on Domains > Advanced Settings - next to your domain name that you want to point.

  4. Click on "Change your DNS settings".

  5. You need to A Records (address records).  If you want your domain to point to http://yourdomain.com and http://www.yourdomain.com, you will need to add 2 A Records.  Make sure "A" is selected in the dropdown menu.

  6. In the first A Record, leave the name blank and add the Wix IP address 216.139.213.144 in the "value" field.

  7. In the second A Record, add www in the name and the same IP address
    216.139.213.144 in the "value" field.

  8. Click "Update" to save the changes.

Once you have made this update to your DNS records, it can take up to 48 hours for it to be propagated across the internet.  You may also find this tutorial helpful: Managing the domain you bought from Yola.

I hope this is helpful.  Let us know if you need further assistance with it.

Thank you
Nazlie

Hi Charlotte

No problem.  We changed the DNS settings on your domain and it should no longer be pointing to Wix.

Please let us know if there are any problems.

Thank you
Nazlie

Hi Charlotte,
Have you tried accessing your site from a different computer on a different network? I am still able to successfully access your site and I feel trying from a different computer will help identify where the problem is located.

Hi Charlotte,

If you can view your site from other networks, browsers and PCs, the problem could be with your ISP, or with your computer settings. Are you able to view other websites on your computer?

It might also be a good idea to call your ISP, to find out whether the problem could be on their side.

Hello Amanda,

I think you will need to obtain the specifications of the Wix requirements first of all. It may need addition of A records or it may need that the nameservers be changed.

Once your domain is repointed then your Wix site would need to be renamed from www.gryphonmastiffs.com to www.booneandbrinkleysboutique.com as domain names are fixed and unable to be changed with the Yola domain registration system. Re-pointing your domain retains the management of your domain with Yola and would still require a Yola hosting plan (Bronze or Silver).
