Please add a vertical menu option!

Hi Yola Team,

Your site builder is much easier to use than any other I've tried, but one thing it lacks when compared to the competition is a vertical navigation menu option.

You have very few styles that have a vertical menu and most modern sites these days now use both a horizontal and vertical menu (Youtube is just one example). It would be a great idea to be able to add a vertical menu to any style, or, at least, include more styles with a vertical menu.

I particularly like the navigation menu used in your Sunny Field style template. This stays in position even when you scroll down the page, and would make navigating a website very easy for visitors. Of course, an option to fix the position or scroll with the page would be even better.

I am desperate for such a menu on my site http://www.simplyeighties.com which now has close to 600 pages, and it would allow my visitors to navigate my site much more easily.

Hi Mark

Take a look at my site http://www.babybo.co.uk I to wanted a vertical menu, and as you say the choices are limited. What I did in the end was made my own. Have a look and see if it something like you want and let me know.

Hi Leah,

Thanks for replying. That's a very nice site you have. Yes, something like that. Did you create your menu using the custom panel as a background? I've got something similar on my home page (albeit in purple) on the right which lists eighties clothes. The problem I have is that I need a menu that will appear on every page, and with hundreds of pages I need to be able to add a menu using CSS code.

How do you get your menu on every page, did you create it manually on each page, or can you edit the CSS code?

Nice job creating your own vertical menu Leah! We have seem lots of examples of members doing this successfully with links or buttons they created using an image editor. We are also working on a batch of new styles and I will be happy to share your feedback with the design team in charge of them.

Hi Laura,

Thanks for that. I hope your design team will decide to create more vertical menu styles - that would be fantastic!
