I purchased a domain from Wordpress.com less that 60 days ago and I'm building a site in Yola.com. Naturally, I want to point the site I'm building (it's not a blog, it's a business webpage) to my already purchased domain but I can't find the way to do it. I upgraded to silver. I appreciate your help.

Hi Diego

If you have upgraded to Yola Silver, then you will be able to point your domain to Yola.

You will need to log into your Wordpress account and create A Records (in your DNS management panel) to point to Yola's IP address, 184.72.229.176. Please note that you will need to create 2 A Records: one for @ and another for WWW.

If you are unsure of how to do this, please contact the Wordpress Support team. We have more instructions in this tutorial: Publish to a domain you already own.

I hope that helps. Let us know if you need more help or have questions.

Hi Nazlie, thanks for your replay.
Yes, that's what I learned from the tutorials and I did find the DNS panel in my wordpress dashboard, yet I'm not sure what to type. Please help me out here. It says to type A correct? What do I put as subdomain? My wordpress domain? Thanks.

Hi Diego

I am not familiar with the Wordpress DNS dashboard, but you should be able to select the A Record.

You may then see fields labeled "host" where you would put WWW in this field. The next field may be labeled "points to". Add the IP address (184.72.229.176) here. Then add another A Record. You will either leave the "host" field blank or put an @ in the field (this depends on how Wordpress's set up). Add 184.72.229.176 in the "points to" field.

Thanks Nazlie. From what I can see WordPress doesn't have it's DNS set up that way. Instead, they have a empty window where I can input the codes. How should I go about that? Please, tell me if I'm correct:

The first one should be A
The second one should be A

If that's correct, there has to be something going on, because wordpress is not letting me. I guess the question would be: Can I point Yola to my WordPress-purchased domain?

Thanks again.

Hi Diego

Please contact Wordpress for help with setting up your A Records. We can give you basic instructions but cannot help with specific domain set up.
