Hi there,

Is there any way to resize the video objects on a page?

I'm an coding novice, and I'm trying to add two video widgets next to each other on a page. Of course the default size is too big to fit them both, so I was wondering how I could shrink the windows slightly.

Thanks!

Hi Tongai,

You try to add a two-column widget first and add one video widget into each side?

Otherwise, give us the steps you're using to add your video and I'll be able to give you more suggestions!

Hi mredsayshi, Marije,

Thanks for your responses. In the end I used similar instructions to the ones you sent me on the honeybear site mredsayshi (found the same instructions on youtube).

Marije, fyi I had dragged a two-column widget onto my page, then dragged a youtube video widget into each side (just as you described above). However my question was more about changing the height and width of the video if you've used the video widget. I think mredsayshi has shown that you can only do this by dragging the html widget onto a page and then pasting html code.

Thank you both for your replies

Hi Jayashree,

ou can change the size of the YouTube video, but you need to copy and paste the YouTube embed code instead of using the YouTube Widget.

Here are the steps:

1) Go to YouTube and find the video you want.
2) On the right of the video you will see embed code. Copy the code. Be careful to copy all of it.
3) In Yola, drag an HTML Widget onto your page.
4) A white dialog box will open up. Paste the YouTube embed code. It will look something like this:
<object width= "425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="https://www.youtube.com/v/__DrJI7mTHQ&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="https://www.youtube.com/v/__DrJI7mTHQ&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

5) Change the two numbers shown for object width and height (object width = "425" height="344") to make the video smaller or bigger.
6) Click "OK".

The video with the altered size will then be embedded in your page.

Kershnee- thats good information, thanks. incidentally, if I add a 2-column widget to my page, does it by default make the WHOLE page 2-columns...or can I insert a 2-column widget underneath a pre-existing section, so one section is just as it is, and the separate 2-column section underneath? (I am thinking of adding the 2-column widget to fit a few small YouTube videos onto a certain part of my page).

Thanks.

Hi Vicki,
Yep, you can add a Column Divider Widget to your page beneath or above other widgets. This is one of my favorite widgets because it is so helpful when trying to arrange a page :)

Here is how I added two YouTube videos into a small 2-column widget:
-added the 2-column widget
-added a text widget in each column
-added an HTML widget above the text widget, in each column.
-Pasted in the"Embed" HTML link from YouTube via the "Edit" screen of the HTML widget box.
-Edited the size of each image (video) to 200 X 200
-Added descriptive text in the text widget below the HTML widget, in each column (1 description for each video)
-Saved the changes
-They worked!!! :)
