Little problem with my website. I've made a banner with http://slideful.com . Everything looks great when I look at it from a normal PC screen BUT the banner is completely off frame when I look at it from a small screen like a notebook, tablet or worse, Iphone or any phone. Can someone please help me? Heres my website : www.eduquatrepattes.ca By the way, I did ask yolk to convert it for mobiles, but nothing is done... Is this normal and the source of the problem? Thanks a lot :)

Style of template: Squeakyclean

HTML code I entered :

Hi Michel
your site looks great in my Note 2, the banner is not off frame, but the banner does not rotate as it does on my laptop. Nice use of the Squeakyclean template.

The code doesn't appear on your post, if you want to post the code that you used, try wrapping it in at the beginning and -!> at the end.

Same problem with a normal banner here: http://www.eduquatrepattes.ca/à-propo...

My slide show code is:

-!>script type="text/javascript">
var o=String.fromCharCode(60);var c=String.fromCharCode(62)
document.write(o+'iframe sr'+'c="http://slideful.com/v20140527_0107963..." frameborder="0" sty'+'le="border:0px;padding:0px;margin:0px;width:930px;height:310px;" allowtransparency="true"'+c+o+'/iframe'+c)

View the slide show

Thanks for the help...

The Yola folks will get here, particularly if we keep the dialogue going and keep this topic active. I am really interested in using a slideshow like yours - your layout and presentation are very professional.
When I go to the site you reference, the banner rotates after a brief pause, I assume that you want it to begin rotating as soon as someone loads the page.
Are you a silver member? If so, try emailing them directly if you haven't done so already, and please let us know how this is resolved.

Thanks...

I did e-mail the folks at yola but they told me they couldn't do nothing since I wasn't using a yola widget... Even if I am, i'm still off frame (!!) : http://www.eduquatrepattes.ca/à-propo... .

Hope I get an intelligent answer tomorrow.

I am a Silver member. I have lots of podcasts on the website (I'm on the radio business in Montreal). Hope I won't need to tell my listeners I am having a website problem because people at Yola are giving me a bad service... I'll keep you updated...

Thanks again ;)

Hi Michel,

I would suggest testing with mobile optimization turned off to see if that solves the problem as optimizing does use a separate style. Sadly that will mean your site won't be as easy to view from mobile devices, but this may still be preferable for you.

Hi! Tested and it doesn't work at ALL! Can't even put a normal banner. It's off frame like the slide show on tablets or small screens. Need a solution fast; this is a corporate site and we pay for Yola. If your template is the probleme, just tell me! And I speak with someone on the phone?? This is starting to be ridiculous! www.eduquatrepattes.ca

Hi Michel,

Yes we're happy to assist you via phone, live chat or email as detailed here. However as you learned via email there is only so much we can do to help you when you choose to use third party code embedded into your website. We can however support the Sitebuilder and the tools we provide.

I'm a bit unclear as to what you tested that isn't working. It's not surprising that the third party code you are using isn't mobile friendly as it's using Flash. When you say you can't use a normal banner with Squeaky Clean, that's actually by design. It's a minimalist style that only offers a site header. It doesn't have a banner area. If you want a standard banner area that you can customize to any size, I suggest you try switching over to SuperFlat or Skyline.

Hello Michel

I've worked with slideful as well, and my test site won't display nicely on my smartphone, either.

There are three things I can imagine to be a solution:
  1. You could either try to reduce the width of your pictures to make the slideshow slimmer. However, I'd understand if you objected that this won't look great on a desktop/laptop if the pictures are any more narrow.

  2. Slideful.com offers other code options to embed it into your website. You used an iframe, I used the HTML version. You may want to try another code type for embedding the slideshow into your website.

  3. You may want to consider using a different slideshow provider. On the website Indaba Counselling, a slideshow offerred by comslider.com was used to create the banner slider. For this site the Mobile Version is enabled, but when you click on "View full site" at the bottom, you'll see that the display of the webversion is flawless.
I hope that one of these options will be helpful.

HI Michael
I appears that Slideful doesn't have a forum or get satisfaction site, so there seems to be little help on their end. Perhaps you could check the following topic to see if it helps: http://forum.yola.com/yola/topics/how...

I suspect that slideful just cant do what you want, perhaps you could check these options:
http://www.slidewow.com/slidewow.html free
http://www.html5-slideshow-maker.com/ not free, but looks like it does a nice job, and you have a very professional looking site, so it might be worth the fee.

Another option might be to try (on a test site) the slideshow using the recommended style, Superflat, and if that works, consider switching styles.

And hopefully our resident forum expert Gop will notice this topic and chime in, his suggestions have been invaluable to users.

my site www.carpetcleaningbedfordshire.co.uk has a similar problem when viewing the full site on mobile and tablet devices. The banner goes over to the right of the screen and cuts off about 15% of the picture. A few months ago when I reported it, I was told engineers are working on it....

Hello Andrew

That's why we offer Mobile Publishing. It's designed to show a version of your website adapted to the conditions of smartphones. When viewing the full site on a smartphone, it's possible that the banner image won't adapt.

What we are working on right now is improving Mobile Publishing. When viewing the full site on a smartphone, the quality of the banner image will always depend on the Style Template used as well as on the way that your smartphone browser interpretes the site. I'm afraid that we have little influence on that. You can see on the Indaba Counselling website which was made using Skyline that the banner gets displayed perfectly when viewing the full site on a smartphone.

Hi Michael
Glad to see this worked out for you. Just a quick question -what style did you end up using?

Hi Rose Marie!

I am using Clean Slate. I did not switch to Wow Slider. Everything seems to be working good with Slideful. If you need more info, don't hesitate.

Thanks everyone btw!

Have a good week.
