Am back to updating my site after being away awhile. but now doesn't save when saved and viewed. Sometimes it will update, but mostly won't. I have to close out and then log back in again. Is anyone else having this problem?

Hello JC

I have checked your Yola account, and published a test page (which I have deleted again), but both saving changes and republishing your site worked fine for me.

Can you please clear your browser's cache or use a different browser, and try again? Let me know if the issue should persist.

Please......................... Why did you publish a page???????????????
As you have now published my site and it is now ALL changed online !!!!!!!!! I hve a banner up that should not be there, as have not yet purchased or designed it! Links now are all wrong!!!!! Pages linked to are completely different and not even finished. Now this is all uponline.

This is now a nightmare as really do not know what to do to fix. I simply do not have the time to go back to each page and re link and change alter pages! It looks like I now have to republish everyting with a page saying site under 'reconstruction'!!!!!!!!! But this will not stop search engines picking up wrong pages etc and not very good for me to do this and take down site and then put up again when it had recently been resubmitted to all of them.

Suggestions??? I have never mumbled or been cross about Yola before, but I am presently quite furious.

this has never happened with Yola before and I do not believe you should publish a site without first checking with the owner of that site. a redesign is happening and now everything is so wrong!!!!!

I still have a problem with the saving of items. and have to log off to do so and then it may or may not have been saved.

also see my comments re IE problems. before and after on other posting.

Hello JC

I think that I misinterpreted the way you used the word "update". I thought you meant "publishing", but it seems you just meant that when you saved things in your Yola Sitebuilder, they wouldn't update in Sitebuilder view or Preview. For testing your publishing functionality there was no other way to do that than by publishing your site, and removing the test page afterwards. This was the basis on which I decided to check your account and assist you further. We are always very careful about what we do in users' accounts and will never change anything without the user's permission. In your case I was under the impression that you were struggling to publish, so I needed to go the way I went to test publishing in your account. I'm very sorry that this misinterpretation has caused chaos on your website.

Can you please specify what exactly happens when you save things in your Yola Sitebuilder? Does it get stuck in the saving process (saving symbol stays forever), or does it just not save, or does your screen freeze, or ...? If there is something of which you could take a screenshot to show us what you see, that would be helpful as well. Also, what browser/version and operating system are you using?

Thanks Stefan,
I guess I was really upset as was taking me ages to redo pages for updating due to thesaving etc, and then you said you published I thought oh oh... and when I saw what happened got upset. I realise now why you did as you did, as now I view my posting it does sound a bit confusing. So do understand - I have never grumbled at yola, as always found totally the opposite and always praised, so thought a bit strange this had happened. Thank goodness not every single page had to be amended, so all ok now as temporarily back online as it was and amended the banner (or sort of anyway).

Anyhow, back to the question in hand. Nope it still isn't always saving when I make a change and then view in yola preview. I can add a text box, or add a line, or whatever else I do, and then when I save and preview in Site builder preview, sometimes it will save and then all of a sudden it decides not to save the changes when wishing to preview (not uploaded at all - just via sitebuilder preview). .

I sometimes go out of whatever page I am on then bring up other pages, then I go back to page I am working on and and now it will look fine when viewed. Other times when it won't save I repeat what I have just said and then when itwon't save close out and wait a few minutes and then log back in. Usually it is thenviewing ok. Also when I go to save sometimes it sort of hangs,so I cancel and go back to page and save again, and then it saves ok - But, since I have used Yola this bit has always happened. But have never had the problem with the saving bit prior to this.
I use Windows 7, and use FF and always view everything in Site Buider with all other browsers just to test ok. I now find when viewing in IE, that IE and Yola are not compatable at present as not viewing correctly with that browser, although it has always been fine before,so think again is strange. As now when viewing in Sitebuilder via IE, none of the widget boxes (rounded and shaded) show up, only a line at the top and a line at left, whereas previously I at least would have boxes showing, but now nothing in IE. So this also has changed as not as it always used to be for IE.
Any ideas??? Oh, The new pages have words 'august' before them.
Always used Yola andnever had this happen before, so something must have happened somewhere along the line.
thanks.
J
PS.
Stefan, I am now having trouble logging in to my account. It accepts my log in, and then when I select the pink login on right, it just keeps trying to get me through but times out. This has happened for about 30 mins or so. and just can't seem to get back in after thesign in.
Have tried in other browsers also. Same thing happens. All the other buttons work, ie features pricing site gallery etc, but the 'log in' doesnt and 'comes up with can't display web page' or 'timed out'. Now what? As I said, now can't get in at all, can sign in and accepts me, but then the pink log in just won't go further.

Stefan, also when trying to log in FF comes up with:
'The connection was reset'
Have no problems logging in to anywhere else, or bringing up any other pages on any of the browsers. But defin only with Yola at present. I seem to be ok posting here though.

Hello JC

I'm really sorry that you suddenly seem to be having a hard time with Yola. Please help me eliminate any possible problems in your local environment. Let's see if we can resolve the login problem together, or if we will need the help of one of our specialists.

What I can tell you for sure is that logging in and out works perfectly on my side, so I wasn't able to replicate the login errors you are reporting.

Please try these 3 steps in the given order:
  1. Clear your browser's cache and cookies.

  2. Try on a different computer.

  3. Try on a different computer outside your internet network.

If no. 2 works, there is something on your computer that causes the problem. If no. 3 works, there is a problem on your internet service provider's side.

Let me know how that goes.

Stefan, hi there. Thks for doing so. I seem to have it quite often, in fact had to do so about a dozen times yesterday. I did clear the cache and still happened.
Nice to see you are still around with Yola.
Even being away a little while and coming back... there are so many things now on offer. Congrats to all those working 'behind the scenes'.

Will give it a break and then come back to it again today. Thks again.
