Hi,

Here's an excerpt from the Yola tutorial for product images:

Product Image: Scroll down the page to locate the image upload area. You can upload a single image via this screen.
Tip: Once you've saved your product details, you can upload a gallery of images for your product, in the "Gallery" tab.

So you are using a CSV file to upload your products. Is that correct?
Another possibility for an error like that is if you are copying and pasting your product description from an external source. This can carry unrecognised formatting along with the text and cause errors in your product file(?)

OK. I understand.

The first thing I would do is to upload your images into your file manager.
To navigate to there please click on Site on the blue bar in your sitebuilder
Then select File Manager.
Now I recommend that you create a new folder for your product images. If there have not been any files already uplaoded into your File Manager then you will see a notice:

Please follow the instruction for creating a folder and call it products

if on the other hand there are some files already existing then your File Manager will look like this:

Please click on the folder icon with the + sign and create a new folder via this way call it products

Now click on the folder products and upload all of your images from your disk. This may take some time but you will see a progress bar indicating hw much of the process is currently done.

When you have finished this can you post back here and I will give you the product image addition procedure for your on-line store. Any issues please let us know.

How are you adding the products? By keyboard entry or by a file?
if you can tell me the exact steps your doing that will help me understand. There are a few ways that you can add products so that is why I am not sure of the message.

That's really great and sorry to put you through the tedium of documenting this.
The solution is now quite clear.
The confusion is the import. You do not need to do this. I'll try to expain this process as it can be used subsequently but requires a clear understanding.

A CSV file is simply a list of products with all the associated fields that you see on the manual entry. The file itself is dumb. You have to map the file contents to the defined order and file type that is required by the Yola (Ecwid) Online Store. At the moment we haven't done that and we may not have to at this time. OK.

I will ask you as to how many products you are wanting to add to your catalogue at this time?

Hi NAWTYELF

Your image files need to have the usual file extensions, such as .jpg, .png, or .gif., in order to upload and display them. Do your images have one of those extensions?

Hi Nawtyelf,

Once you have added an individual product's details name, category, price, weight and description then you just go down to the Product Image Click on Browse.

Select your image file on your disk and click open in the dialogue window. Once it's opened then click Upload back on your online store open dialogue.

Tha t will then place the image in the product file. Now make sure to Save the record at the top of the Online Store modal window.

Your record is now complete.

If you only have a few products just go ahead and repeat this process. If you have a lot let me know and we'll move on with the CSV addition and I'm happy to lead you through that.

After you have successfully added at least one product then you have the basis for a model for your file upload.

You need to go into the Store management facility by going to My Yola>Online Store>System Settings>Catalogue

On the catalogue list you will see your products. At the bottom of that page you will see the Option to Export All Click on that and it will open a modal window. There is a drop down selection box there so click on that and select Comma as your delimeter.
Now Click the CSV File button at the bottom of that window.
A file will be downloaded onto you computer. Please save this in a location where you can easily find it.

The next thing is to have a look at your files on your disk. The records that you intend to add. This one is a little diificult so I will ask you to send the disk file to me as an attachment to my email.

Second thing is to send the Exp[ort file to me as a second attachment.

What I need to do is to look at the structure of both files and manipulate the disk data so that we can map it to the store requirements. Once we have done this then you can upload a new file into your store and simply browse through to make minor adjustments.
