That's really bad Michelle. I hope this can be worked out very quickly for you.
May I suggest that you subscribe to a free site monitor for say a month. This will show you both the downtime(s) and help identify a pattern if there is one. The way these work is by monitoring your site from very remote locations both on-shore and off-shore. It's presumed to be unbiased and I have no idea who would be the best provider for this :)
I found this invaluable about 18 months ago(?) and it then became apparent with the engineers data. Always good to have facts but is an effort I agree.
