I back up my web site every day by selecting Download site. I was just wondering what the process is for recovering my site from the backups I download. Is there a document that explains this? Thanks!!!

Hello Randy,

The download site feature is there for people who would like to download their site and upload it to another server for hosting. So although you can download the site in zipped format, it cannot be uploaded back into the Site Builder.

This might, however, give you peace of mind as you will at least have a copy of the site.

Rest assured, thought, we certainly do multiple back ups of all our site data and we are in a position to restore all our customers sites simultaneously and quickly in the event of something unforseen going wrong.

Hope this information helps!

Thanks so much Emmy!! I was just concerned if anything happened to my site whether I would be left in the cold with no recourse. So Yola has this covered? Thanks so much!!

Emmy,

Can you help me get some clarity on the thread below, I relied on the backup you mention above, but can't get an answer if the request I sent for backup can reinstall my blog?

If I can't get an answer in the next few hours, I'll have to move to a site like WordPress and rebuild my site. I would choose WordPress because WordPress allows me postdate the blogs if I have to rebuild them. Where if i need to rebuild them in Yola, the 40 or so blogs will be the current date.

So please Emmy, you've helped in the past, can you help me get some communication?

Toby

I sent a request about 1 hour ago.

After my last update on my site, about 14 hours ago, I was working on new html/java code and really screwed my blog page up. This morning after many hours of trying to unscrew what I screwed up, I unwittingly tried to rebuild a blog page and did not carefully think through the implications of what I was about to do - and poof! I deleted my blogs and my blog page by creating a new blog page with the same title.

I have (had) more than 50 blog posts. I have not published, so my live site is the site I would like to revert to. Is there a way Yola can take my live site and reinstall for me to edit. Alternatively, is there a way Yola can take my blogs that are live and revert my blog page to yesterday's last publish? How do I get my blogs back?
I was trying to reverse engineer what I did, but I only reverted to being an idiot.

Thank you - Toby

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the email.

You have probably got my reply to your earlier email by now, but just to say, I have forwarded your query to our tech team who will see if there is anything they can do.

Best wishes, André

Can I have a status update?

The help section says there is a backup. My site is frozen until I can get that back up. If the backup is unavailable I need to move to a new service.

Thank you,

Toby
