Hello,

There are two ways to create online store functionality with PayPal- The first is obviously by using the integrated PayPal Ecommerce widget in the site builder and the other is by creating products within your PayPal account and then copying the specific HTML code that PayPal would provide, into a Yola HTML widget. The pasted HTML code, will then reference the product in your PayPal account.

It is using this second method that you can add HTML variables to your product that would implement discount codes, etc. This is how you would generate the basic code for a product using this method:

1. Sign into your PayPal account and click on the "Merchant services" tab in the horizontal menu.
2. Click the "Buy Now Button" or the "Add to Cart Button".
3. Choose button type and enter name and payment details.
4. Check the "Add drop-down menu with price/option" box half-way down the page.
5. Add the details of your selection.
6. Click "Done".
7. When done editing click "Create Button".
8. In the next window and in the (Website) code box click the "Select Code".
9. Right click on the highlighted text and click "Copy".
10. Open the Sitebuilder and drag an HTML Widget where you need it.
11. In the HTML Widget paste the code.
12. Then republish your site.

For detailed information on using PayPal, please view PayPal's Website Payments Standard Integration Guide PDF (5.8mb PDF).

Now that you have that code, this PayPal link will show you the list of HTML variables you can add to individual products to implement things like discounts- HTML Variables for Individual Items.

I realize that his might seem like a daunting task for some of our users who feel uncomfortable with HTML, if you feel like you fall in this category of user, please contact the PayPal Help Center where you can find answers to questions related to your account with PayPal and how things work: PayPal Help Center.

Kind Regards,
Emmy

Hello,
I am actually not sure how this works with PayPal. I feel the best people to answer your question would be the support staff over at PayPal. Here is a link: PayPal Help Center.
