Hi John

One thing you could do is go to "edit menu", drag all your "unfinished" pages from "in menu" to "out menu". This will hide the pages. Then, you can update! Please note though, if you have links going to the "unfinished" pages, the user will still be taken to that page.

Another thing you could also do is password protect those unfinished pages. Go to your site manager, then scroll down to "Site Password Protection" and click on that link. Then check off all the pages you want password protected.

thanks littleus but i use a custom menu,
i thought of a way to make it easier for me in future, save the page as a different name, finish it then save it in rhe place of the old one.
if you understand me :D

If you do as Littleus suggests you should be fine....It takes awhile for a page to be indexed and it is very doubtful it would come up in search with someone landing on it.....I prefer to keep this in mind and publish pages to get them on the road to being indexed ASAP so they start showing in searches. This pushes me to get my pages finished and not have a bunch of half finished pages on my site.

I hear ya....That is why I do things to push myself and focus because I can easily be just the same....Not sure it is lazy or if it just getting a great idea and getting bored with it.....then wanting to be on to the next great idea.
