publishing forever

Hi there,

I just let you know a problem I've been experiencing for one month approximately. I update my site every second day and this is a bit annoying: when I click the "publish to the web button", I see the "publishing site..." message, and nothing else.

The final message of "your site has been published" is something I get in less than 30% of the case, the most usual outcome is the "publishing site..." message saying there for ever.

This is an issue that used to happen every now and then, but in the last weeks it's been always like that. Any idea about what is this happening?

If you need to know it, these are the website where I experience this problems:

I'm sorry to hear that russianforfree, I'd like to try and help with this. I have a few questions. When you visit your site after trying to publish and not getting the success message, has your site been updated? What browser type and version are you using? Do we have your permission to access your Sitebuilder and do some test publishing?

Thanks for your cooperation as we work through this together.

Hi Laura,

I always forget to say my name: Jose :)

When I get back to my site, as far as I can see, my site has been published, that's why I haven't run to tell you, but I believe you should have a look at it because I might not be the only one.

I use Firefox

Please, do access my sitebuilder and do some testing.

Thanks
Jose

Hello russianforfree

I have created a test page called "test" on your website http://www.russianforfree.com/. Don't worry, it's not in your navigation and you can delete it yourself at any time.

When I re-published your site, it took like 20-25 seconds until I was shown the success message. This time can vary, but there should be a success screen eventually.

Can you please also follow these general trouble-shooting steps:

I will check on your account later again. Please let us know if the problem persists.

Hello Stefan. I tried on a different computer with cleared cache and with a different browser (I use Firefox and I tried Chrome) and I had the same result, the publishing message and nothing else (the updates were published despite that).

Hello Jose

I have checked your site and the publishing functionality again, and it seems to work on my end. Please let us know if you should experience further issues. Thanks.

Hi Stefan,

I do the clearing cache bit often and I believe things improve, but the problem happens anyway, so I can't tell whether is a coincided or clearning the cache really helps. I work with two computers and with one of them the problem happens clearly more often, but it does with the other one. As for browser, I only do Firefox. I'm used to the way the sitebuilder looks under Firefox. I'll try with them.

I've noticed that the bigger the update the higher the chances of not getting the "website updated2 message. I'm not the kind of person that gets impatient after 30 seconds, sometimes the sitebuilder is "publishing" for 15 minutes. But as I told you, it seems that the site gets published, so if no one else is complaining about this issue, clearly is on my side.

Thanks!
Jose
