Evening All

I have just re-vamped my home page ( www.alternative-angling.com ) after numerous comments from a number of sources ( including this forum ) I am still not happy with the layout but I don`t know why.
I would be happy with any comment at all, I know it is a personal choice but i`m sure the comments will be helpful

Many thanks
Steve

Hi Steve,

Your home page looks good... i would suggest these points

A. Move these 3 images into a row. theres alot of space wasted.

B. put a bit of space above these pic's

C. put a bit of space between these pictures

D. Make all these links the same text and the same colour.

no problem Steve - if you want to make a 3 column widget to fix point A - add a 2 column widget to the page then add second in 1 column of the first.
This gives you three boxes to move around and align.

Hi Steve

wow.. you made a number of changes since the last time! You've been a busy person!! =)

Here are my suggestions:

1. I would still recommend doing a banner to capture people's attention. For example: (You can click on image to enlarge)

2. Please take a look at my screenshot: (Hopefully you can read the comments)

3. I really like those images you have of different fishing spots. These images may look really good in a slideshow which may help to add a cool dimension to your site. I'm thinking of the Ultimate fade-in slideshow. You can find this on the Yola Code site under "slideshows". Please read the rules first before grabbing the code. =)

4. As for all your other pages, I would try to add some color to your text (maybe to the headings) and/or add some pictures or widgets to help bring in that visual element.

Please let me know if you need further clarification on anything. =)

Hi Steve, it looks much cleaner - great improvemnet - small things but they improve the overall look alot.

The top images are slightly out of line.... i have written you this peice of code to add to your site. If you add it to a text widget using the html function you will be able to edit it as you like, for example if you want the images further apart just click in the text widget and put spaces between them.

Let me know if you need anymore help with anything.

1. add a text widget to the top of the page (where you want the images)
2. Then click the html button.
3. Paste the code into their

----------
The code is basically a div with your 3 images wrapped in it so they all are centered. If you dont want to use it you dont have to but it looks nice and aligned.

No problem Steve, When i started out here at Yola i had no idea about html... now i can write my own. A nice trick to learn some things is when you use text widgets to add images and links etc. if you clcik on the html button shown above it actually shows you the code Yola use to produce the content of the text widget.

Another good help is this site http://www.w3schools.com/

The good thing about Yola is it does most of the code for you but its also really nice to learn how to do it yourself.

Let me know if the images work out ok.
