If you need support from Yola please contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org or make use of our live chat service! We are working on a new approach to community-based support and during this transition period we are not adding any new threads to this forum. Many thanks to everyone who has participated over the years and we look forward to unveiling a new peer-to-peer support system soon!
I have recently used Yola to redo my site. My old site consisted of html pages, and now i would like to have an aurtomatic redirect to the new site when someone searches for one of the old html pages. How do i do this?
I'm assuming that you are publishing your site on Yola to the address that you were using on your previous system? When you switch your address to Yola, the old page links will no longer be accessible because you have changed the settings on the domain to point to Yola. While the old pages may still be shown on search engines, this is because they have not yet been removed from the search engine's index. What will happen over the next few weeks to few months is that the search engine will return to your address and see that the content has changed, it will throw out the old, and update its index with the new. This will be done gradually and you can expect the indexing to take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months.
