Remove banner from title page

I'd just like to remove the banner from my first page... I tried dropping the following code in an HTML widget but I still see a space where the banner used to be, filled with the background pattern. Thanks!

Hi sjkang,

Can you tell us the template style you are using. We'll have to find the class of the background pattern of the banner then hopefully we can remove it.
