Remove website banner completly

I have recently published a website where I have added CSS coding through Yola's custom CSS to remove the banner that is standard to the professional style that I have chosen, which works perfectly until you use a computer on a slower internet speed. The result is the banner momentarily showing which makes the website look aweful and glitchy.
Is there anyone that can help me with this as I'm really happy with the website thus far without this glitch?
I've included the CSS coding added below:

}

div#sys_banner {
display:none;
}

div.ys_banner_overlay {
display:none;
}

Hello Jase

Your code is correct, but I guess what you described can happen when using slow internet connections.

You have two options:
  1. Either change your Style template to a one without a banner area.

  2. Leave your custom CSS code as it is, and upload a banner image in the colour of your background and of only 6px height to your banner area. That is a funny workaround, but it should work. I have prepared such a banner for you on my test website. Go there, right-click on the slim blue stripe you can see at the bottom of the home page, and save this image file to your computer to upload it again on your Yola website. Then insert this image into the banner area which you can still access by clicking on Style > Edit banner > Change banner image.

Hope this helps!

Nice one Stefan,
Thinking aloud here... another thing you could try Jase, is to use a 1px by 1px transparent gif or png as your banner. Have not tried this myself, it's just a thought.

P.S. It does not need to be transparent actually, it could just be a (1px by 1px) dot in any colour.
