Hello Adilirani126,
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Yola champ. The best thing you can do if you want to do this is:
Learn to know Yola's Sitebuilder really well by working hard on your own sites.
Participate in Get Satisfaction by answering questions people have. Based on how good your answers are and how many people you help, we may decide to make you a Yola champ.
This is the process we use for all the people that we award champ status to, or hire to work for Yola, so if it is something that interests you there is no reason why you can't get started right away!

Hi, I became a Yola Champion by helping out everybody and on the day of the DoS attack, I was helping out like crazy all day long and I got promoted! I was so happy! (I still am!) I am still helping out lots too! I also know about the Yola site builder a lot and I really helped out people with pointing their domains to the new ip address. Good luck on becoming a Yola champion! :)

Hi there Adil,
There isn't a minimum number of tickets you have to answer or a particular task you have to do to become a champ. If you are consistently assisting users and give great help then we will consider you (or anyone else for that matter) for Champ-hood (if that is even a word :) )

I hope this helps.

Hello Henry & Daniel,

The inclusion of the link to yola in the footer is part of the terms of service you agree when you sign up.

We do not place banner ads on your site, or charge you for our service. However, we do want people to know about our service and this discreet link in the footer is all we ask of you in return for the opportunity to build and publish a site for free.

We hope you can understand our position on this.

Kind Regards,
Emmy

Hello - Yola will hate me saying this but there is a way to do it.
I'm not going to tell you exactly how to do it, but it is possible -
learn a little bit about CSS and you can white out the links - does mean that you have to make all other links show up by adding a colour <a style ...

I think if you pay you should get this removed - i dont like this yola policy which is why im telling you this - if you havnt paid anything you should leave it on - credit where credits due - if you dont your just an ungratefully freeloader.

Hello Lee,
I can understand your frustration with this, but what you have actually paid for (if you have paid any money) is a domain name, not to use the site builder; the site builder itself is completely free and will remain that way.

The site builder is an intense application that takes many people many hours to build, maintain and support. So yes, there may be a way to do this by what you have said, but it is against our Terms of Use and we hope you can understand our position on this and continue to respect it.

Kind Regards,
Emmy

i can, however i know at least 2 of your competitors remove it when you pay, the problem is that there service is not as good as yours. If you pay (and we both know a domain doesnt cost 20 bucks a year) you should get it removed - i personally dont care - i dont mind if its there or not but on some sites its inappropriate, Yola need to realise that yes 90% of the sites made with you are for friends and family, but if you want to keep the business site builders happy you should have the option of removing it.

I a have a code that allows you to get into the footer to add your contact details. It doesn't affect the yola link. It works best in cleanslate.

Thank you for your feedback.

While we do not have the option to remove the footer at this time, we understand the importance of making this choice available. We are working on the legal and technical requirements to add the removal of the footer for a small fee in an upcoming release.

We look forward to this and other improvements of our service

They give us the best web site maker for FREE - they give us the best customer support FREE - a small link on the site they have created is not unfair - - If you dont pay anything you should have a link to Yola - This is fair for everyone - I still dont understand what the problem witha tiny link at the bottom of page is anyway. Unless you buy a domain through Yola then it should be removed on request. Or it could be a part of a general upgrade package - 100mb file uploads / Footer removal / individual page passwords - all this could come in some kind of extra package you can pay for.

I know, the Yola link doesn't matter. www.Yola.com is the best website builder ever! You know, www.Webstarts.com charges you just to connect to your domain! That sucks! They make you upgrade just to add a domain you already own! Yola is the best and has the best support team! I am so glad that Yola was made up!

Personally, I don't have a problem with Yola's footer. But saying that, I understand why people would want the footer removed, and for free that is.

But then again, one of the most popular "free" site builders, webs (formly known as freewebs) does allow you to place your own footer. But saying that, they put an ad in your site (if you dont pay anything), which is way worst then having a small link in the footer.

So basically, every site builder out there has some sort of thing, that people dislike. There are no free site builders, which give you the opportunity to do whatever you want. They all have some sort of thing that people just hate. Some free site builders; have a limit on space, or bandwidth, some place ads and for yola, im guessing its the footer.

Only in some situations is the footer link inappropriate and thats normally a business situation, also some styles are better than others, the ones that say free site builder are the worst. From the site builders i tested Yola is the all round best mainly because of the editor. I would rather a link in the footer than a bad site editor, advert revenue share or poor customer support.

I agree with you, UK Duke. And, also, www.WebStarts.com makes you upgrade to a pro account (Which costs $40/month) just to connect your website with your domain you already own! I really disagree with that! I like webstarts, but I still think www.Yola.com is the best! I wish here was a way I could help Yola! (Not paying help, just a way to help you guys and get more customers!) I also saw the video of Yola on AbcNews. But, they didn't say how you get a free .yolasite.com domain. They said you just have to get a domain. But why does the Yola domains cost $20 a year when I can get one from Go Daddy for only $8.00 to $10.00 a year? I wish Yola would lower their price on domains. I can easily buy a domain from Go Daddy for around $8.00 a year and set up the name server because I know how to do all that DNS stuff. That is how I got some sub domains for my blog for my regular domain. http://blog.nathansmusicstudio.cz.cc & http://status.nathansmusicstudio.cz.cc Those are my website's blog. I am using Blogger now because the blog in the site builder doesn't look that nice, and I want to make my blog look nicer, so I switched to Blogger/Blogspot. I even took the Navbar off of my blogger/blogspot blogs using some CSS! And, I changed the favicon on my blogs! The blogs don't even look like Blogger blogs! They look like a regular blog from my website! Anyways, I hope Yola stays in business forever! I am going to tell all my friends and family about Yola!!!

Hey Nathan

Yes.. it's true that you could get a cheaper domain elsewhere. If you take in consideration that we offer free site building and hosting, unlimited bandwidth, an abundance of storage spae and first class support, we'd like to think that this is a pretty good deal! :)

What I have been testing is that you can add your own css template to the page. It automatically removes the footer link. Could we do this and add a link somewhere on the page. This allows do put it where it suits us.

True, I have tested all the well known site builders out there, and yola seems to have a good customer support. But I would have to disagree that yola has the best site builder, there are many things that yola doesnt have yet, mainly because its new.

Yola, as a site builder is missing two major things that most other site builders have. First, it's not really editable and second its missing lots of features that other site builder have.

Saying that, just because other site builders have these stuff, doesnt mean its great. Most site builders that offer these features, usually place an annoying ad in your site, and limit you bandwidth.

Well, I'm sure Yola will release great new features, its just that It's hard to say if they'll be free or not.

By the looks of it, most good features that are going to be released will cost you money.

Just as emmy pointed out, they'll be planning on letting users remove the footer for a small fee on the next release. And, I also asked a question about a feature long time ago, and a employee said that they are working on something similar, but are going to charge you a small fee.

You will be happy to know that the option to remove the Yola Link at the bottom of your page has now been implemented. You can remove the Yola Link (footer) from all the sites in your account for 9.95 USD per year.

For more information, please see: http://forum.yola.com/yola/topics/per...

Please note: if the style has a credit to the designer, this cannot be removed due licensing requirements. To see styles that do not have design credit, see: http://www.yola.com/yola-style-guide

Can't we just remove the link, but keep the footer? You can see what I mean on my website: www.nathansmusicstudio.cz.cc Look at the footer, and there is a link, and a blue footer-bar. Can't the system just remove the link, but keep the footer?

Hi Kassie,

Did you read the post above from Monique?

You can now remove the footer in 2 ways - 1 is to pay $9.95 or you could go pro and you also (as well as the footer removal) get loads of other goodies - http://www.yola.com/customer-support/...

Personally i don't mind the link. When you think about it Yola provides a FREE service and they have to support themselves somehow. I'd much rather the link at the bottom than have my website be over-run by adds.

To be honest I'd probably put a small link in myself there if there already wasn't one.

I believe I have paid to have the Yola footer removed on my website but it has begun to show up recently where it was gone before. When I click on Remove Yola Branding on the image in the editor, it says, "Oh no, you've reached your limit!" What does this mean and how do I get it to go away ASAP? This is very inappropriate for my website.

This is an old topic and not related to the problem you described. Please email support@yola.com with your website address and we will look into this for you right away.
