Hi Kenny

The index page can be taken out of the menu, but keep in mind that this is the first page that your visitors will land on (regardless of whether it's in the menu or not) as it's the default home page. To do this:

1) Click on "Edit menu:
2) Drag your index page "out of the menu"

To add additional items to your menu:

1) Click on "New Page" - the third icon from the left above the SynthaSite tabs.
2) A dialogue box will open up that will prompt you to give your page a name.
3) When you click "OK" a new page will be created and a link will automatically be added to your menu.

I hope this answers your question. If not, please let us know.

Hi,

I'm not sure that I explained myself very well in my last e-mail. I do understand that the index will always be the first page seen by visitors to my site, which is why I want to inclue some kind of site navigation either above the banner I have made (in the template so to speak) or if needs be along the top of my banner. I've included this link to a site that was built using synthasite to illustrate more clearly what I mean

http://www.forty-something.com/

As you can see the links Home, Love, Beauty etc are along the top edge of the index page. This is the look that I am aiming to achieve on my own site. So I guess I'm asking if I can add these links to the template, or as I know think is the case, I should create the links when I create my banner.

Thanks again for your patience and your help.

Hi Kenny

Thank you for the clarification. The menu is generated automatically. However, the appearance of the menu is determined by the style you select. In the site you linked to the style that is used is called RedPlanet. This style allows you to upload your own banner image, which is what the creator of the fortysomething site has done. You do not have to create your menu links when you create your banner - these are created when you add new pages as explained in my previous reply.

Can you tell me what the name of the style is that you are using (or describe it to me) and I will see what I can suggest from there.

Hi Monique

Thanks once again for your reply. As luck would have it I am also using RedPlanet, so would I be right in assuming that when I create a new page (and name it) the link to the new page will appear at the top of my banner as in the fortysomething page?

Thanks again for all the help

Excellent! It should work as described when you create new pages. If for any reason it doesn't let us know!
