Will I still have my URL on Yola site even though I renewed my URL through GoDaddy which was then transferred? Currently there is a message on my back office stating that i have only 9 days before it expires. Will there be a problem?

Hello Organic.living,

If you don't mind sharing your website URL here, it will help me answer your question. If you'd prefer not to make that URL public, please email that information to us at support@yola.com.

Thanks!

The URL is the same that we have through Yola www.organiclivingforall.com. Godaddy had a special offer I could not turn down and I successfully transfered the URL to GoDaddy from Yola. The problem is that I still see the message on myYola site saying that the URL will expire and I don't want that to happen.

From what I can tell, if your domain was about to expire before you transferred, you would have had to renew it before it could be transferred away from Yola.

I believe the notice you are seeing is the residual period you renewed your domain for prior to transferring it. I can confirm that your domain is registered with GoDaddy until February 2013.

I have also referred your question to a colleague, so they can confirm this.

Hello Organic.living,

In addition to Justine's help - I noticed that your domain is still using Yola's DNS (A Records, name servers etc). Please make sure that GoDaddy provides you with DNS for your domain if they are managing it - you may have to contact them for help in this regard.

But Yola is still hosting my site which is what I want. Do I still need a DNS from GoDaddy?

Hosting and DNS are two different things. If GoDaddy manage your domain, they should manage your DNS and point your domain to Yola: 184.72.229.176. Once your domain is pointed and your site is published on Yola, then we host your site (not your DNS). You can find GoDaddy-specific information here: http://www.yola.com/tutorials/article... (but you still may need to contact them about switching to their DNS).

I have been getting emails also from GoDaddy and it sounds confusing. They say my domain name currently points to
PDNS3.ULTRADNS.ORG
PDNS2.ULTRADNS.NET
PDNS1.ULTRADNS.NET
PDNS5.ULTRADNS.INFO
PDNS6.ULTRADNS.CO.UK
PDNS4.ULTRADNS.ORG
I don't know any of these. And then I need to add 2 name servers?
I will probably call them.

Hi, Linda,

It looks like this has been straightened out. I can see your site and the name servers are set to GoDaddy's and the A records are correct.

Hopefully all is in order. I still have the message that my URL expires in 2 days. Renew .... now. But can I just ignor that? We switched over to Godaddy and as far as I know we have everything in order.
