I've had the widget box RSS feed on my 3 blog pages for a while, but forgot to check them until now. They don't seem to work. When I click on them I get taken to untitled page and Im asked if I want to book mark the blank page. I've read the tutorial and tips on how to get the widget to work, but when I click on edit in the green bar above the widget box all I see is "margin" and "position" as the things I can edit. (See screen grab)
Am I just a bit of a thicko? Or am I missing something?

We would suggest adding some type of simple subscription form (at a minimum) that allows users to get email updates. This is a great way for visitors to express their interest in the company and it's offering and for the business to stay in touch. Though RSS usage continues to increase, email is still what a majority of site visitors know and understand.
Do we have the option of addig one of these?

1. Add it to a html widget or a text widget just as you would add code on a normal page.
2. I think their refering to a form, but you have a booking form already, The grader doesnt find my blog or my rss feed, i dont worry about that tho, i just use the site for basic ideas. The more real SEO stuff is more improtant , keywords, links, engine listings that sort of thing.

PS. maybe try linking your contact form from another page with the full URL of the booking page, sometimes this helps sites find it.

The Blog RSS feed on your Yola blog is simply a URL with the RSS feed of your blog. Whichever browser you're using will interpret that and display it accordingly. Some will give you the option to subscribe to that feed in a reader that you are currently using.
If you as the blog creator want more out of your RSS feed, then perhaps something like Feedburner will help you. Here is a thread with info on how to set that up: http://getsatisfaction.com/yola/topic.... Feedburner gives you more information on stats, browsers etc. And you can find more info on how it works on this link: http://www.google.com/support/feedbur...

I use Firefox v. 3.5.5. Yes, it's the RSS widget blog page. URL is gurusoorya.com. My client who said he had problems used IE. I read the comments below about feed:// turning into http://, thus the XML code page. I suppose as long as people can subscribe the first time, they will be okay?

Hi Lee - I think the reason for this was posted on another thread and I'm sorry I didn't come back and add it here.
Are you using Firefox? The reason you are seeing a blog RSS feed display differently is because of the way your browser is interpreting the page. When you click on a blog RSS feed, you'll see that the URL in the browser starts with "feed://" instead of "http://".
In Firefox, it disregards "feed://" after clicking on it once and converts it to a normal URL. This means that the page will display as an XML file and not a pretty RSS feed page. It doesn't mean it's broken, it just appears a bit differently. You will still be able to use the RSS feed URL for RSS feed functions.
Having said that, I've clicked on the RSS link on your homepage (http://hexham.info/forum.rss) and I get the same page each time. Can you check to see if there's a change in the URL for the XML page that you see?
