I know that I have seen info on how to add an RSS feed to my SynthaSite site but I can't find it. Where should I look?

With all of these great resources to draw from, sometimes it is overwhelming to keep track of what help is offered where. Thanks

Hello Rex,

To add an RSS feed to your site you will first need to create a blog page; you will then be able to add an RSS widget much like you add any other widget to a page.

We have a great tutorial that will step you through creating a blog: Blogging With Synthasite.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Emmy. I have created pages on the website, but do not know where to find the widget for the RSS feed. Where can I find such a widget? Thanks!

Hello Rex,
The RSS widget will be available to you when you create a blog page; it is not available on the standard website pages. On your blog page you will have a whole bunch of widgets that you don't see for your regular pages.

To add a blog page:

1) Click on the "New Page" button on the top toolbar.
2) Choose the "Blog Page" option and type in the name of your page.
3) Choose whether you would like a link to be added to your menu navigation and if you would like the password feature to apply to this page. Then click on "OK".
4) A dialogue box will open where you can add your first blog post immediately. You can also click cancel to create the page with no blog posts.

I posted a link above to the tutorial for Blogging With Synthasite if you would like to take a look at it.

Kind Regards,
Emmy

Hi Rex

Emmy has given you excellent instructions on how to use the blog RSS widget to allow people to subscribe to your blog.

I just wanted to add that it is also possible to add an RSS feed to a web page on any subject that interests you. You will find the RSS widget, in the Content sidebar on the right, in the folder market "Widgets"

Drag and drop this widget onto your page and then use the Properties sidebar to add the URL of the RSS feed you want to appear on your site.

I hope this gives you some idea of the options available.

Just a couple more ?'s for you nice people. If I want information about a specific topic ("white wine" for instance), is there a way to filter the information that comes in to limit it to info about "white wine"? Also, is there a directory of available rss feed sources? And what happens if you try to add 2 or more sources to one page. Thanks so much for your help.
