Save your website for viewing offline... A Honey Bear Playhomes tip...

Sadly, you are not able to save your complete website for testing (ie: buttons, links and such) in your browser's "save page as - website complete" as it does not save your banner or background, nor does it allow you to browse your website via buttons or links.

The closest thing that that will allow you to (offline) view and test your website that I can recommend is a free program called HTTrack Website copier http://www.httrack.com/

HTTrack allows you to download your website as complete as you can and use your website's links/menu which link to other pages on your website to click through like you were on your live and on the web website.

1) Download the installer for your computer here http://www.httrack.com/page/2/
2) Install and run HTTrack.
3) Click the "Next" button.
4) Name your project and select the folder you want your website to be saved in.
5) In the action box it should say "download website(s)"
6) In the "web address" box place your index page URL.
7) Click the "Next" button.
8) Click the "Finish" button.

Then wait while HTTrack copies your website to your hard drive. You can either access your saved site via the link provided by HTTrack or access your site later by opening the folder you saved it in and clicking the Firefox or Internet Explorer "index" icon contained within which will lead you to your saved site.

HTTrack copies mostly all of your site but occasionally has some issue with JS files. As well, any photo slideshow that you may have on your site such as Slide the space that the widget was in might be blank as you are offline and your computer cannot access those images/slideshow.

Please note: For all of your website's pages to be copied you must have a link to those pages on your index page. If not HTTrack cannot find them to save them.

Here is a video off Youtube to guide you through the process https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNdNbY...

Happy site building
Ed

I dunno... I think that my site might be too customized with a great deal of out of the box coding and flash animation. I will (I hope) be finished with the site update maybe Tuesday...

Plus the fact that it goes through the Facebook friends voting thing. I don't have any friends and thus would never be near the top of the vote polls to make it to the second round of voting by the Yola staff.

One time that I wish that I had the list of 300 FB friends.

Man do I love playing with the interactive grass on my site. Too darn realistic for a website LOL ;)

My thoughts exactly! This is going to sound nasty, but it looks more like a popularity contest than a design contest. I deleted my Facebook profile months ago and I've never done the Twitter thing. I also noticed there's no links to the websites. Oh well... you would have kicked my but again anyway ;-) Maybe next time...

I still have my old FB account with 15 friends but have been so antisocial this past year that I haven't had any chats with anybody on my friends list. Matter of fact, I haven't posted on FB or Twitter in probably 6 months. No good news to post these days LOL

Maybe we should enter for the heck of it Chief... One of those Ron Popeil "Set it and forget it" entries. Man was he the king of infomercials...
