Scheduled Maintenance

  • Updated 10 years ago
The Yola Site Builder will be unavailable from Saturday 4am GMT 30 May, (Friday 9pm PST 29 May) for an estimated four hours while we perform scheduled maintenance. Logins will be disabled, but hosted sites will not be affected during this time.

If you wish to check the time in your time zone, see: http://tinyurl.com/5pdrv

We will not be rolling out new features tomorrow, but the work we are doing will assist us in improving our infrastructure and facilitate the roll out of new features in future.

Please Note: The four hour time period is an estimate only. It could be shorter or longer. We will keep you informed of our progress on this thread.

We apologize for this temporary interruption of service, but have every confidence that the work we are doing will lead to a better, stronger Yola in future.

Hi lambofgod,
I'm sorry, tomorrow is just a time when our engineers will be doing some maintenance, unfortunately there won't be any features rolled out. Your enthusiasm for new features is very inspiring though!

I will let you know.

We're back!

You can now log in and edit your sites as normal.

Thank you to our engineers for their quick work, and thank you to everyone for your patience.

We will continue to monitor our service closely, as always, but we are happy to welcome everyone back to the Yola site builder at this time!

I've been updating my site this morning (unaware of all your updating!). But when I clicked on update, the site will not display most of the images (including the page banners) when viewed in any of my browsers. I can still see them all, however, when I'm on the editing page in yola.com. Any ideas where my pictures may have gone??!! Thanks, Al

Thanks for your quick reply. Here is the url:

By the way, thanks so much to all you guys for making yola such a great site to interact with and use. As you'll see, I've created a site for my geography pupils - they're finding it very helpful, and I'm finding yola so quick and easy to use.

We are looking into this right away and hope to fix it soon. I will do a post alerting others to a potential problem on their site. Thank you so much for helping us identify this issue so that we can fix it before it affects more people.

We have just become aware of an uncaught bug resulting from this morning's maintenance.

With images: they look fine in the site builder, but do not display on your published site. You might either see no image or just your alt text.

This is the issue Al Hamill is reporting above.

In order to prevent more people from encountering this, we have disabled logins while we fix it. We hope to have everyone's site back to normal soon.

We are very sorry we missed this one and we will work as fast as we can to correct our mistake.

Glad it is working for you! We are still seeing this problem on other sites, and it looks intermittent, which is why we are having a very hard time replicating, but our engineers are working hard on it.

Just heard word from engineering. They have been able to isolate the cause and are working on a fix. It could take a couple of hours, but we will let you know as the situation develops.

I celebrated too early that this had all gone smoothly. Sorry guys!

Once again I am happy to announce that Yola logins have been restored and our customers can log in and edit their sites. New customers who were unable to sign up previously will be able to do so now.

We had two bugs resulting from the work we did which have now been fixed. We will continue to monitor very closely and watch for any further signs of trouble.

Thanks again for everyone who helped spot the problems and to all of you for once again showing us your support, patience and understanding.

We have had some users email us and say that they are having difficulty loading their sites in the site builder. We are looking into this right now. If anyone here experiences this, please report it on this thread.

That is great to hear. Unfortunately some people were queued to site builder nodes that were having a glitch. We hope that is fixed now, but we will keep watching.

I still experience an error window and a blank file list when trying to replace the link text in the text code. Works ok if I delete and start with a new code, but this did not happen before your maintenace! And this site seems to be very slow too!

Hi Kent - could you let us know which page of your site has the error? We'll then be able to take a closer look.

Is no error there now, just was a problem changing the link code in a text widget that already have a link to a file in it's code.

Are you still experiencing this, or have you repaired all the links already? It could be related to the maintenance we did, so if you see the error again, please let us know.

@littleus - thanks for the suggestion, but this is one we have to fix.
@Peter - is it krooclub.com or all your sites?

Sorry Monique,

I missed this. Fr the sake of information it was sites associated with the login I use with krooclub. All sites using that login were affected. Other sites I use with a different login seem OK. Not exhaustive.

Great: It is a glitch caused by an error on our end. But republishing fixes everything. If you have other affected sites, can you do this? I did it for krooclub.com.

Hey Monique, is there something wrong with the html editor? It seems that every time I put a code in it says there is something wrong. Even though it is the same code I have used before and on other pages it is on it.

I can't think of any reason why what we did today would have affected the HTML editor. Can you email us the code you are using so we can test on our side? I am going to bed now, but Emmy will still be around for a while. Otherwise I will look when I get up tomorrow.

If anyone else experiences problems with their sites that they think were caused by our maintenance today, please post them here or email support@yola.com. I will take a look first thing in the morning. Scratch that, it is morning for me already- so later this morning :)

Emmy would normally be available until I got up, but she is getting ready for her trip to Cape Town! (and mighty excited about it, may I add) So bear with us if it take a few hours to get back to you.

Whatever is wrong will be put right. . .

Hi John

Try to access your site at: http://www.rubesandthehi-rollers.com/

It worked for me, but the URL you posted has a typo. Get back to me if you still can't see your site.
