Anyone know how it's possible to make a thumbnail of a webpage using a string (without having to manually do the thumbnail)? It can be php code or html code.

Not possible, that I can think of. But if you could put a cookie on the users computer it may be possible. Say - Take screenshot at beginning of entrance. Save the file as a cookie and then make reference to it.

I've seen screenshots on websites before that are placed there automatically (typing in url and submitting it, then screenshot appears).

This is the closest I've used on what you are looking for, it's in xml

<!--

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<resources>

<string name="app_name">AndAR</string>
<string name="error_unkown_pixel_format">the camera uses an unkown pixel format.</string><string name="mode_rgb">RGB</string><string name="mode_gray">luminance</string><string name="mode_edges">edges</string><string name="mode_contours">contours</string><string name="mode_bin">binarized</string>
<string name="description">AndAR is a project that tries to bring Augmented Reality to the android platform.</string>
<string name="takescreenshot">Take a screenshot.</string>
<string name="screenshotsaved">Screenshot saved!</string>
<string name="screenshotfailed">Failed to save screenshot: </string>
</resources>

-->

just save it "file.xml" and you should be good to go.

Ah ok, thanks for the website Donald, that helps clear it up.

They use a complex database system with multiple languages beyond the ability to be able to post openly on the forum, sorry I can't be more help.
