Script Widgets & Link Options

I dont know if it would technically possible but... I would love to see script widgets.

This request comes from being asked by endless users how to add script effects.
It would enable more basic users to add some of the effects you can apply with the use of javascripts.

Yola could host these trusted files and offer built in features like, fade shows , floating tool tips or image opactiy.

I know that being able to add these kind of things easily to a site would be a real bonus for Yola as a product and the experience of its users.

The second request is alot easier to implement... I have requested it before... link options.

I presume, with the programmers vast knowledge, it would be quite easy to have a little check box in the link editor where you could choose if the link was to open in a new tab. And perhaps a side field where you could add a title for the link.

Again something which is asked, often, by hundreds of users which would be great as a built in feature.

Thanks for listening - Lee.

Hi Lee,

Thank you for these suggestions.

Some questions about your first point:

1) "Fade-shows" - Would a slide show image gallery widget be a solution to this or did you have something else in mind?

2) "Floating tooltips" - I think I know what you mean but could you give me a little more information about how you would like to see this used?

3) "Image opacity" - We have been experimenting with variably opaque PNGs and have been able to achieve some cool effects in some of the new Styles that we are developing. I'd love to hear how you would like to see us using image opacity?

I completely agree with your second point, this is something that we want to do as soon as possible. The ability to create and link to bookmarks is something that we want to do at the same time.

Thanks again for the feedback - Brent

Kudos to Yola....Not many companies will respond to suggestions at all....Getting tech engineers to interact directly is very impressive and much appreciated

@ Brent,

Point 1.
I guess what i'm really asking for is more advanced ways to display images... Either something like a image gallery widget, or perhaps a built in (i dont know if your aware of the 'lightbox gallery') lightbox gallery.

Point 2.
The best way to expand on this is show you - (hover over the tree image at the bottom of the page) - - again (like point 1) its just another way of using images in a more professional looking way.

Point 3.
I'd love to see built in image opacity and what would be really cool is if you could add hover properties, something like the choice of 2 variable image opacity states, 100% static and 70% on mouseover (or of course vise-versa).

All the points including the link options are all based around things that Yola users ask in the forum... which they want to achieve but have to use basically a knowledge of html to get it done.

It would be great to see a new user with no html knowledge creating effects which can really WOW there site visitors...

Thanks for listening - Lee.
