I heard there is a security risk with hackers once user has built a Yola website. To what extent is this true? What precautions is Yola taking and what precautions should the user take to prevent hackers?

While yes it is true that any website can be hacked by bad people I will tell you that in all my time using YOLA I have NEVER had any occurrences of anything out of the ordinary or which would make me fear for my websites safety.

YOLA takes all steps possible to ensure that the system is both safe and secure and I thank them for all they do for us.

As to the security warnings you are currently facing it is well known that some widgets, advertising banners and data feeds do and will show up on an anti virus software watch list. It is not the integrity of YOLA which is in question but those features you or anyone else places on their website which may show an ad for a company which has been flagged as a Trojan or virus.

I personally have assisted numerous users this last year troubleshoot the cause of those warning on their sites and by simply deleting the widget, ad or other which is causing it will bring your site into compliance with anti virus software and keep those alerts from popping up.

Could you be so kind as to share your URL so that we may get this squared away for you?

Happy site building
Ed

Have to agree with Ed...Chances are you have unknowingly linked yourself to either a known spam or attack site.

the temp site i made with that virus problem, it will be deleted in the end of june or july, but i also think a moran is hacking it too.

i have lots of widgets put on, youtube urls, view counter widgets, pic slide widgets. maybe its the widgets that create a problem, maybe not?

i took the liberty too test it. i made another website with yolasite.com it is called www.testting.yolasite.com n there r no widgets, the background is different n i only put i pic, a money pic. thats all, i still recieve a report saying the site is unsafe with a low threat virus, same virus, that back door trojan.

thats great u beleive yolasite is totally secure, it certainly not working for me. if this keeps up, im gonna figure out how to make a website without using yolasite.com

n most importantly, i'd like an answer on how to remove that virus from my website that is used through yolasite. if u cant come up with one, well thanks for trying.

later dudes

Hello Hayz29

As I cannot locate your Yola account in our system by your forum e-mail, can you please send us your request using our Contact Support Form? This would be the best channel to assist you with this problem. Thanks.
