Hello julie,

With payloadz it's important to have a distinct product name and a unique product code. The code is sometimes overlooked by users and can cause confusion. The code is a key field with the prod name.

Each product should have distinctively different HTML codes to copy and paste on your site. I would check these also.

I should also add for your information that if you have a lot of patterns then the Online Store is ideal for this as it also allows virtual or downloadable products and it keeps it all organised without you having to do he setup of the page and arrangement of the product buttons etc. There's another user who sells patterns on a craft site with their e-com facility plus she sells with the Online Store and the setup is very, very good.

It is great for a moderate to large inventory.

Hi Gop
Thank you for your replies. The first one i understand what you are saying every pattern does have an individual code but when I drag and drop the html code box onto my page it applies it to all the patterns on the page.

But answer 2 that is exactly what I am looking for I have an online store but am selling only patterns to ship I did not know I could sell downloads in my online store. can you help point me in the right direction it would be great if I could see the other persons craft store do you have the name.

Hi Julie,

To make an item a downloadable product all you need to do it to remove the product weight. A null weight is an inernal signal that this is an electronic product and therefore has no shipping associated.

If you have both then you would list it as two separate items in the online Store. You could create a link between the two for the purpose of advising your customer that it is in fact available as a hard product or a downloadable. (The synonyms for downloadables include: Virtual Product; Electronic Product; e-goods; Digital Product)

An Ecwid Knowledge Base article can be found: http://kb.ecwid.com/w/page/27264368/E...

The site I was referring to: http://dollmakersmuse.com/shop.php

Sorry,

I forgot the Payloadz business. Do you want me to pursue this? If so can you tell me your sitename (and the page because I'm lazy). If you could publish the site then I can see what it is that may be happening? Of course it's up to you but I'm happy to work through this with you.

Hi Gop
Thank you for you help again. I was adding the link from payloadz to the page featuring the pattern not at the checkout maybe that was the problem my site is http://juey.co.uk I have removed the link now but added it to the html on the description of the pattern if you look under Patterns - Siobhan it shows there as a buy now icon, i want it to go by the add to cart section maybe its not possible?
Any help appreciated. I just want to sell the patterns as downloads but dont know which or any programs to use to cut down on printing and postage. Eventually bring out a eBook. my email address is juliearnfieldcrowther@gmail.com if it is not showing I am very new to this:)

I will get to this tomorrow Julie. I'm fairly sure that this can be worked out I'll just do a bit of reading and see what is to be learned.

Have a look at the posts 2 before. Both the site and the article should give you some idea of the way the Online Store handles this.

I'll get back to you on this thread in several hours time. If you didn't know, you will receive any replies on this thread to your email address that you used to register on this forum.

Hello Julie,

I can't tell why the Payloadz feature is not working the way it should for you. I can't reproduce this issue

I would recommend however that you use the Online Store facility as it has two advantages for you:

It is cheaper for you than Payloadz and it keeps it all together meaning that you don't have to create a separate facility for Downloads vs physical products.

The page I referred to from the Ecwid Knowledge Base should be of great help. If you want specific help on this then please don't hesitate to ask.

Gop.
