Hi Troy,

You would need to add the cost of shipping to the price in the description field or include it in the total cost of your product. We are hoping to add more functionality (like this one) to the PayPal widgets in the near future!

It is now two years since Marije answered Troy's question. Did Yola add more functional widgits to help with our shipping problem since then|?

Hello Roelf

We have not yet addressed this as there are still other things that have taken priority at this time. We will still be taking this under consideration. In the meantime, I hope you can use the workaround that Marije has provided.

After a two year wait I would rate this a higher priority. Other free websites seem to have overtaken YOLA in terms of design choice and useful modules / elements.

Hello Karen,

Here is a free shipping cost calculator widget for inserting into your web page. It's customizable but the service is limited to the US.

http://www.freightcenter.com/NewWidge...

It's produced by Freight Center. It also allows you to place the booking online so it's an integrated approach. They also offer you a 5% discount if you place their add on your page.

Paypal does offer a shipping calculator that's fairly straightforward to use. All you need to do is login to your paypal account, go to merchant tools, and click on shipping calculator under "shipping and tax". It lets you create multiple shipping methods / prices.

The bad thing is that a customer has to go all the way through to "proceed to checkout" in order to enter their zip code or country and get a quote. you can see how this works at my mandala fine art prints store.

I also put up a post in my FAQ on shipping and handling rates as it was a question I got a few times by people who apparently wanted to know before proceeding to checkout.

Was wondering...Who do you use for your printing? You do yourself or have a service? I thought about using deviantart for some prints but I would really rather do it all from my own domain.

tiddsgarden here is a thread on how to add a shipping charge to a paypal button within the paypal system. Sadly, there is not yet a way to do so with the sitebuilder's paypal widget as of yet.

Add a shipping charge to your Paypal "Buy now" or "Add to cart" buttons... A Honey Bear Playhomes Tip...

Hi I came up with an idea but it is only in theory so far. If you were to put another product up for sale but it would be postage. Say they buy 3 things and you have postage for 1-10 items = $20. Have the item be 1-10 items $20 postage. So they click that and that totals the postage and the items. Just an idea. :)

Hello Mary,

The shipping cost is calculated automatically if it has been configured correctly. I's not something a buyer adds specifically.

The second aspect of this is that if you are using PayPal Express then shipping costs are not seen until the transaction goes to PayPal and then it will come back to your store. The costs are shown very late in the transaction process. This is the system of PayPal Express and not the Online store.

Many people oft out of PayPal Express for this reason and drop back to PayPal Standard so that shipping costs are displayed with the selection.

if this doesn't cover your enquiry please let me know if you can exactly what may be happening. happy to work through this with you and confident that there's a solution.

Hi Mary,

OK. Then it's not the delayed shipping calculation if you are using PayPal Standard.

The thing that doesn't make sense is that your customer says that they can't add shipping. Shipping should be calculated automatically and added to the over-all cost at checkout.

Your customers should not even consider the shipping addition as this all happens behind the scenes.

If you can tell me your web-site address I'll try to look at it from here and see if anything is obviously out of sync.

hi I have figured it out. someone else on a different forum had a similar issue and it's because I hadn't put in any weight for my products which made them intangible so therefore didn't require shipping cost . I have added weight now and all seems to be fine . you can have a look to make sure for me if you like http://www.lmbelljewellery.co.uk thanks alot for the help

Lovely site Mary,

Well done for picking up on the no weight.

My bad I should have jumped on that first call. I was focusing on the less likely and wasted your time. Apologies.

I hope that it all goes well and it's all very well set out as an easy to use pleasant to the eye store. Congratulations on your work.

Just keep plugging away with combinations etc on a periodical basis to keep it in sight of Google and I think your site will be successful.
