How can I set my shipping in my store to have it so the first item is $3.50 to ship and each item after that is $2? I've been messing with it for hours and cannot figure it out!

Hi Erica,

I'm not sure if you mean the Online Store or a store you have created with PayPal Widgets?

have you listed your products with the same weight?

If so I may be able to create an algorithm that can use this for manipulation.
can you also give me a realistic estimate of the maximum likely number of products to be ordered?

I used the Yola widget for the store.
Its basically flat rate shipping.

So if you buy 1 item it would be 3.50
if you buy two items it would be 3.50+2
three items 3.50+2+2 and so on?

OK. Thanks for getting back.

The PayPal widget is quite limited for simple options, elaborate calculations are programmed. I would ask for assistance from PayPal labs and see what they can offer.

As a workaround you may like to consider shipping as a product stating the prices as you have laid it out. You could categorise these as options within the shipping product and in your instruction, guide your buyers to the fact that it is an obligatory purchase(?).

so the yola store is PayPal??? i have a shipping category and people never pay it :/ I guess since its a flat rate I could just do "free" shipping? and add the price into the cost :/

The Yola Online Store can use PayPal and a large number of other payment gateways. The process of shipping calculation is quite different and there are a huge number of options plus some freehand creations as well.

If the Online Store is something you are considering you may like to look at the videos produced by Ecwid, the creators, on the processes.

maybe I should explain that Yola currently have two e-com systems. The Online Store and the PayPal facilities. These are separate but the Online Store is the most flexible and effective and it can use PayPal if desired. It costs a monthly subscription but this subscription is less than the price that the native product is available at. It's about $10 per month for Bronze and Silver subscribers.
