Shipping Options Trouble

I just started my store and I sell several different items. I have USPS First Class, Priority Mail, and Parcel post selected under 'carrier calculated' and I also have one User-defined Method. Is there a way I can put just one specific shipping method on one item and not all of them?

For example, I mostly sell license plates that go First-Class or Priority, but I also sell kid's furniture that can only ship using my User-Defined Method (which is 4-week handling). Priority shows only 1-3 day delivery, which is impossible for the furniture. How can I make it so only the User-Defined option appears on the furniture and not the other shipping options?

Thank you for your help!

Hi Cody,

The store doesn't allow for product specific shipping as an option.

What you could do as a workaround is include shipping in the price and then utilise the free-shipping facility.

many people use this for various reasons and are aware that different destinations have different shipping costs. They work out an average price and this generally cuts even for them at the end of the day.

This way you don't have to be concerned that a customer will choose the wrong shipping plus you can add a note to the invoice that the item is being shipped by and is expected to arrive in x days or y weeks.

If this is feasible then Ecwid have a method for free shipping.

I also think that if your product weights are well differentiated then you could use this fact to calculate the shipping cost. Let me know and I will give you some background and a method.
