Shopping Cart Question

Let us presume that I load all my products into the Yola shopping cart. The normal process would be to activate the cart and then allow buyers to purchase and pay. What if I wanted to merely catalog my products in the catalog - basically disable purchasing. I would want prospective buyers to email me with the related product details - we will then discuss the deal and finalize details over the phone or through email. Payment will also happen off line. And if this is possible, can the visitor add more than 1 product into the shopping cart and then in the last moment leave the cart without paying or checking out. We can then access the 'order' at our end and begin communication offline with the visitor.
Thanks.

Hi customjewels,

The easiest way to do this is to enable Offline Payment. This then forces the process of contact and allows you to accept the final arrangements, accept payment and ship it out. The process forces dialogue before accepting the order as the management of the transaction is completely in your control.

Hello customjewels

To add on the other part of your question: Yes, you can have your customers add products to the shopping cart without completing the purchasing process. You'll need to tell them that they have to follow the checkout process, but skip the final step of clicking on "Buy". The unfinished order with the buyer's details will display in your Online Store Control Panel under Sales > Unfinished sales. However, not finishing the purchasing process will not update your inventory. Anyone else will be able to put the same products in their shopping cart on your website.

Yes that is exactly what we want, no update of inventory. This because the product is actually made to order, so details need to be discussed before finalization. Thanks.
