My synthasite is at vzbiz.synthasite.com I would like to shrinken the margin between the banner image and the top of the page. I tried other styles than burlap which I'm using- but then they area that I want white is not. So, if you have a solution for either problem that would be great. Thank you.

i am getting a placeholder page not your site with the URL you gave.
Is the address correct? http://vzbiz.synthasite.com
There would be a way to fix your problem, im sure we can help, you can get a synthasite site to do anything you want it to.
So your using burlap and you want the banner higher? maybe try cleanslate with a background. You can add color in the style choice section or actually add anything you like to the background from within the page properties sidebar in the site editor.

Lee, I took the pages "out the menu" and it didn't change anything. Now, what about making the table background white when using a different style- how is that done?

no your right in that style moving out the pages does nothing sorry, this is where i learnt how to make tables http://getsatisfaction.com/SynthaSite...

check out how high i have the banner on my site http://hexham.info
if i filled the background green the boxs would stay white(the white ones anyway).

good luck - Lee.

I like where your banner is. I went to that table page, but where or how do I insert the code? I know have to drag and drop the html onto my page- how do I get it to change the properties of the table?

drag in a text box then press the little html button that comes up at the top of the page when you clcik inside the text box. Add the code there tehn you can work on it like its a normal text box

Hi Vizbiz

The burlap style has that space at the top, bottom and sides because the content on the page is meant to be framed by a background image - something like a picture in a frame. That is the way the designer of the style created it.

I see you have already uploaded your own background image, which looks great. However if you want your banner image closer to the top of the page, you will need to use a different style. A similar style is Tastelessly - it has some space at the top but not as much. The other options is CleanSlate as Lee suggested, which has the banner image right at the top of the page and also allows you to change the background image.

I hope one of those suggestions work for you.

I tried Tastelessly, but the banner image area is too large. I'm now trying to change the background color as Lee suggested, but I'm just not doing it right. I'm doing bgcolor="#FFFFFF" with < and > at both ends after double-clicking in the text area and then clicking the html button. What am I doing wrong?

to add a white table you need all the line from <table width= etc.etc. not just the background color. Lee.

Alright, I feel myself getting closer . If you go to www.vizbiz.synthasite.com and then click on About Us you'll see that I added a white table. Now, you will see a space between the table and the banner image which the background shows through. I'm guessing this has something to do with the style and the navigation being there- so I need to choose a different style- but before I do I need to make sure there's not another way to add white to the navigation area.

now you have to go back and do what i told you at the start - remove these pages from the menu (in your current style it will work) - then add them back as links in your white box

your using cleanslate now? - it will work - drag out all the pages including the index and you will see your white box move up closer to the banner.
