Hello Sally,

That Style can't easily be edited to change the black section of the Banner. The Free subscription is a little more difficult as it doesn't allow sitewide changes and changes would need to added to each page of your site manually.

Burlap and Banana Leaf are alternatives you may like to consider?

Hi Gop
thanks for your response. I know that the change would need to be made to each page individually, but wanted to pursue this since for some inexplicable reason this is the default style.
Any thoughts you might have would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Sally,

Thanks for the follow up.

The black portion of the banner is in fact an image and so a way to replace this is by substituting another image.

To do it this way is to create an image of your colour or design created at a size of 379 * 201 pixels. Store this in your File Manager and call it into the place through a CSS internal style sheet. Save the image with the file-name: board.jpg.

You can also replace the background call with a new statement of background color but this has recently been deprecated in recent HTML revisions and at some point will cease to work as new generations of browsers evolve.

<style type="text/css" media="all">
div.ys-banner-wrap td.heading {
background: url("resources/board.jpg") repeat scroll 0 0 #262628;
border-right: 1px solid #333333;
width: 100%;
}
</style>

You may find that your border colour needs to be changed and this can be done by altering the HTML within the Internal Style Sheet. Happy to work with you if you need this.

Gop, thank you so much for following up on this, I will work on this and report back.
Five stars to you also for all of the help you provide to other users and for stepping in with practical suggestions as well - I may end up using a different style but have a specific project in mind that this style would work well with, and appreciate your suggestions.

It is confounding finding a Style that fits an aspect but then realising that some aspect of it doesn't quite fit. There are so many Styles in the library and a replacement is not always obvious. It continues to amaze me how various creators can modify a Style or select a Style on a "hidden" attribute that to my mind isn't so obvious.

Wait, this isn't answered! I know it might be difficult, and I know priority is given to promoting upgrades, but this forum used to be a place to explore alternatives for all users.
