Site builder server problem?

Have there been any server performance problems recently which would affect editing my site (I'm a UK user in GMT time zone). It has taken a while to log into the site builder during the last couple of weeks.
I have just used the new custom panel feature and put a google widget inside it. I can't get a preview to run - it opens but never fills the panel. I think it's a fabulous feature, but I daren't re-publish my site until I'm sure it's OK.

Hi

We have not had any server performance problems today and our engineers have been monitoring it as usual. I have just tested logging in and adding the Panel Widget to my site and I am not experiencing any difficulty.

Would you mind sharing your website so that we can take a closer look at the problems you describe. Also tell us which web browser and version you are using and who your ISP is.

This information will help us troubleshoot the problem in more detail.

Thank you
Nazlie

Hi Nazlie
Thanks for following up. The problem is not occuring today: I've been able to preview successfully and then publish the site.

The website is www.chichestercanal.org.uk. I'm using the latest version of Firefox (7.0.1) and my UK ISP is one you probably won't have heard of: Utility Warehouse, www.uwclub.net. They give me a reliable 14mbps download speed.

A side question if I may? Can you advise a technique for centering the widget inside the custom panel? I had some problems positioning the google widget horizontally - experimented with various widths from 600 to 800 pixels. The panel is on the home page.

Hello Andy,

We're glad to hear that the issue with previewing and publishing your site seems to have improved!

If you need to center your Google Widget, are you using HTML code to add your Google Widget? Do you mind if I take a look in your Sitebuilder to see if we can find a way to make this work for you?

Hello Sanja,
I think perhaps you've answered my question: in html I could work out how to organise the position, but this is javascript. I was attempting to solve the problem using the spacing parameters in custom panel editor and they have helped, but I guess I have to learn a bit more about javascript.

You're welcome to take a look in my Sitebuilder, but I'm happy to be told to work out a solution for myself in javascript.

Hello Andy,

You can try using div tags to center your javascript.

<div align="center">
your javascript code goes in here
</div>

I hope that might help!

Hello Sanja,
Thanks. That worked a treat. I'm learning gradually, but the relationship between site builder features, widgets and coding sometimes defeats me.

I've had no problem with slow response from the site builder the last few days, so please treat my issues as solved and I'll get back to you if I have further difficulties.

Thanks to Nazlie and yourself for your help.
