I have my site pointed (www.espetaculosa.com) but yola is still saying it is not. I contacted my provider, they confirmed it is all set on their end.

Sometimes when I try to see the site, a yola default page shows up and tells me to publish my site again, which I have done, but still nothing....It has been over a week.

Any tips?

Hi chris,

Can you send an email to support@yola.com on this issue and they will get onto it faster than here.

Hi Chris,

I have checked your A records and one A record is not pointing correctly. Your www A record is pointing to 184.72.229.176 which is correct, and the other A record is not pointed. This is why you are unable to publish your site to your domain.

You can check this for yourself by entering "espetaculosa.com into the Domain field and selecting "Look it up" at this link: http://www.kloth.net/services/dig.php

If you type "www.espetaculosa.com" into the same field you will see that it is pointed to 184.72.229.176.

In order to support the "www" prefix you need to make sure that your DNS settings are configured correctly with two A records:

- Some domain registrars require one A record with the hostname "@" and one with the hostname "www".
- Other domain registrars allow you to create one hostname called "domain.com" and another "www" (replace "domain" with your own address).
- Both should point to our IP address: 184.72.229.176.

You should be able to ask your current registrar for assistance.

For more information on pointing your domain to Yola, please take a look at our tutorial: Publish to a domain you already own.

I hope this helps!

Thanks,
Jackie

Hey Jackie,

Thank you for your response.

I have gone back to the domain editor. Since it wont allow me to have 2 records with the name "www" I had 1 as "*" like I had read in the how-to. But obviously that didnt work. The site doesnt allow me to use "@", so I just changed it to espetaculosa.com, but still nothing.

Here are a few print screens, maybe you can see something I am missing?

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris,

Unfortunately I can't see the links that you provided, they keep returning a server error. What you can do instead is take a screenshot and then upload it as an image within your post. There is an "Add Image" button on the bottom right corner of the text box.

I am also unable to see your espetaculosa.com A record, but once a DNS record is added it can take up to 48 hours for it to propagate across the internet. It may be that it is still propagating and that is why we are unable to see it yet.

If you are unsure whether you have added it correctly I would suggest contacting your registrar's customer support team and they should be able to help you.

Thanks,
Jackie

Thanks for this information Chris.

If the "*" or "@" didn't work, I am wondering if you shouldn't leave that field blank. Did you type in espetaculosa.com in that field? Or did you leave it blank and it propagated with espetaculosa.com automatically?

I hope that what I am saying makes sense!

haha yes, you are making sense. It was already propagated with _____.espetaculosa.com. I just added an additional espetaculosa in front and now it just shows espetaculosa.com.....

I hope that makes sense....

We can leave it for another 24 hours to see if the A record is still propagating, otherwise I would suggest leaving it as _______.espetaculosa.com if that is allowed in the system.

Hi Chris,

I have looked up your A records, and your update was correct as "espetaculosa.com" record is pointing correctly, but now your "www.espetaculosa.com" A record is missing!

Could you check to see if the www A record is still there?

You can check if your A records are pointing correctly at this link: http://www.kloth.net/services/dig.php

My best suggestion would be to contact your domain registrar to see if they can assist you, alternatively you could you a company like ZoneEdit to manage your DNS. For more information please see this link: Using ZoneEdit for domain name management.

Thank you so much for you help, I ended up calling my domain registrar AGAIN, and finally some just "reset" the info, and they both started pointing correctly.

Thanks again!
