Site not displayed correctly in Firefox

My site www.chichestercanal.org.uk appears correctly in IE but not in Firefox. For some Firefox users the navigation menu appears within the banner image, for others, no banner image appears at all. In Google Chrome the navigation menu also appears within the banner image.
I'm using Redplanet style.
Grateful for you help,
Andycanal.

Just took a look... in firefox 3.0.3 - menu is in the banner images.
In I.E. 7 - all looks right, menu is above the images.

It looks like the length of your page heading as well as the number of pages in your menu is causing your menu links to be pushed down onto the banner image in Firefox.

I can report this as a bug and see if there is a solution, or if this is a limitation of the style.

In the meantime could you test my theory for me?

On one of the pages of your site, click on your page heading. Delete all your text and replace it with a singe space. Then look at your site in Firefox and let me know if the menu links and banner display correctly. You can re-insert the page heading once we know the result.

Monique,
Thanks for your quick response.
Yes, you're right: If I remove the page heading the navigation menu and banner image display correctly in Firefox. Does that help to determine a fix?
At the moment I'm thinking of making all pages sub-pages and inserting my own navigation menu in the body of the page - is there any downside to doing this? Will my site map for Google tracking lose it's impact?
I'd like to stick with Replanet because it's a very clear and simple style.
Cheers,
Andy.

Hi Andy

Thanks for the information. I can ask the engineers to make sure that the Red Planet style supports longer page headings in Firefox. However, it will take awhile for this solution to become available.

I agree with you that Red Planet is the best style. If you would like to create your own navigation I do not think this will have any impact on Google tracking. It will also make your menu more flexible and you would not have to wait for our bug fix. If you are happy with this workaround let me know.

Hi Monique,
Thanks for you help.
I've put my own navigation in.
I know you've had another discussion thread on drop-down menus and it would be nice if there was a style like Redplanet with a horizontal navigation menu with drop-down below the banner image. But lots of things would be nice - I'm very impressed with Synthasite so I'm happy to work with it as it is.
Thanks again,
Andy.

Thanks for your patience and understanding. We will get there with the drop down menus!
