Hello Morgan,

This may happen if there is bad or incomplete code added o your site somewhere. You can either send CS a message or leave your domain name here and the CS people can check your site file.

Your published site is showing fine Morgan.

Is it only in the sitebuilder that you see the issue? If this is the case then it could well be that it was the last item of content code that you added and haven't published as yet. If this is the case hen you have 2 options: wait for Yola people to see if they can fix the issue or you can reconstruct your page as a new page checking as you go to see if the issue re-emerges.

If it goes well then you can delete your original malfunctioning page and replace it with the new reconstruction.

so i should delete the page and just make a new one? because it happens on all three pages that i have. and the last thing i added was a new service through the full slate widget. and it was perfectly fine. do you think maybe somethings wrong with my computer? i thought so at first but everything else is working fine, and my internet browser is working fine too. i normally use chrome but then i even installed firefox just to see if it would work on there. today im gonna try to edit the site from another computer just to see.

okay, i just did what you said, to delete the page and start over. it worked. but this kinda sucks. is there anyway to just copy the page instead of designing it all over ;/

Hi Morgan,

We're happy to investigate this for you further but I was unable to find an account for the email address associated with the forum. Can you please reply with your website address or submit a request to support here as Gop suggested?

Hi Morgan,

Glad that you have got this fixed.

You asked if copying the page would overcome this? The answer is no because you would only be copying bad code and the issue would be replicated without resolution.

The solution to using untested code or uncertain additions is to create another test site (not a test page within your real site) and add the code to this. If it works then you can safely copy it to your real site.

It does suck when you have to tear down a site because it hangs. Probably happened to most experienced site creators at some point and the lesson learned stays with you forever...or at least until the next time you forget to test things before implementation ;(

Sometimes bad code can affect the page but allows you to remove the code, other times it locks you out of the page and yet other times it locks your site. This is most notable on your home page. Yola are introducing code verifiers that attempt to pick up bad code and this is working OK but obviously not perfectly. Site creators really need to be diligent to protect their work and time effort, it's worth it :)

yeah, ive recreated my other pages, just havent done the home page yet. however once i was done and i saved it, i tried to go back and edit a page again and the same thing is happening. like earlier when i created the new pages everything was great. but now once im trying to go back and edit again its not letting me.

to be honest, i dont know too much about coding. so i dont honestly know what the problem is or how i could fix it without having to create a new page everytime i want to add or change something to one of my pages.

at this point im ready to just give you my password and what not to my account so you could see first hand whats wrong hahha

You're welcome to give me the login details but I strongly suggest that you allow Yola to do this to guarantee your site security.

I'm not baulking with helping you and so with that warning, if you wish me to have a look you can send me the details by email: gop@great-sillage.info

Hello Morgan

What browser and which browser version are you using? I'd like to test this under the same conditions that you have on your computer.

Thank you for this information, Morgan. I've logged into your Yola Sitebuilder and tested the things which you indicated under the same conditions in Google Chrome. However, I wasn't able to replicate any of the issues which you are reporting. Also, we haven't received more complaints of this nature recently.

I presume that it's something on your computer that causes the problem. Either it's something in general or a browser add-on which you've added to Chrome recently. Just for testing, can you please try to edit your Yola website using another browser? I'd suggest to try Firefox. If everything's working fine with Firefox, there's something in your Chrome browser which is causing the problem.

If you experience the same issues with Firefox, please let me know.

I actually downloaded Firefox on my computer and the problem was still there. However I tried to edit my site on another computer and it worked perfectly! So now I'm trying to figure out why is that.
