Site up for review:

Constructive criticism and comments appreciated.

I have a couple problems with the embedded picasa slideshow on the home page:
1) Why is there so much space on the top? I've changed settings several times and can't seem to get it closer to the heading.

2) The photo captions, below the pictures) come directly from the Picasa web album. I've searched for hours on how to change the big ugly font. Apparently, I'm not alone, In all the searching it seems everyone is wanting to change it, but no one knows how.

Thank you for all responses.

Hi there Margie,

I really like what you have done with your site.

Unfortunately I am not sure how to change the font for the captions. I am not sure if it is possible.

With regards to your spacing, are you referring to your picasa gallery? It seems the size of the images is what is causing the spacing. Are you not able to increase the size of the gallery?

I hope this helps.

Hi Margie,

I found what could be a solution to your font problem, via the Picasa help site. Apparently you need to add the captions the way you want them to look to your photos on your computer, in your software (for example, using Photoshop Elements). Do do this, you have to crop the image with a larger base, make it black or whatever color, write your caption on it and then upload that to Picasa. It is quite laborious, as each photo has to be done individually. It seems to be the only resolution though.

This website has more details about the above, and some handy picture steps:

Hope that helps!

Thank you, Justine.

You're right. I could have added the text directly to the photo. The reason I wanted to use the caption feature in the slideshow was so the store owners could add or remove pictures from the Picasa folder (thus, the slideshow) without doing any photo editing.

There are a lot of people with the same question. Hopefully at some point, Picasa will improve their captioning.

One of the best reasons for adding text is for search results....Text added to a photo is not picked up by search engines.....I would like to see flickr and picasa both improve a few things also starting with some text options.
