Something very strange has happened to the style of my website http://www.simplyeighties.com in the editor. If you compare the editor version and the published version you will see that the fonts are all messed up.

In the editor, when I select the "style" menu I see that the Super Flat style has a tick next to it, although the style of my site is Raging Ribbons. The CSS overrides no longer seem to be working and now I am seeing messed up fonts all over my site. Please help!

Well, thanks for not responding to my problem. Thankfully, I've sorted out the mess myself!

I am very disappointed that you have a style designer that I am unable to use, I can't change styles without a whole heap of problems being caused and I can't even add a decent font to the heading of my site.

Basic design can no longer be achieved with Yola and now this forum seems to be dead. I've been with Yola for four years and since the unusable style designer was added there has been nothing but problems with site design.

If I could move my site to another provider then I would do so, but I am left lumbered with a service that has deteriorated over the past 12 months or so.

Such as shame as Yola was, by far, the easiest to use site editor on the web, but until you sort out that dreadful, buggy style designer you will have a lot of disgruntled customers.

Hello Mark

I've checked your simplyeighties.com website in your Yola account, and I can confirm that your site still has the Raging Ribbons Style. When you click on the Style tab, you will see our two new Styles "Super Flat" and the two "Skylines" as recommended Styles, but they don't have a blue v (so they're not activated). When you click on "Premium", you will see that the blue v is still attached to the Raging Ribbons Style. This means that this Style is still activated for your website, and it also looks like your website still has this Style when I view your site in your Sitebuilder or online.

However, I can confirm that your fonts have been mixed up. I can see the Gill Sans font and Arial font alternating on your home page. Where there is Gill Sans, I can see that this font has been manually added to the text within the Text Widget. Which font do you expect to see?

Have you recently enabled the Style Designer? Or did you change your Style Template? I remember your website having a different Style. Changing the Style Template disables your Site CSS. If you re-enable them, it doesn't mean that they will produce the same results as on the previous Style because every Style has a different CSS coding.

Could you please try turning off the Style Designer? Click on the little Palette Icon in the top right corner of your Sitebuilder view to open the Style Designer. At the top of the left-hand side column, you will see a Power button icon. If you click it, it deactivates your Style Designer.

If that doesn't solve your problem, you may need to review your pages and change the font for your Text Widgets individually.

Hello Stefan,

I had a problem after I tried selecting the Super Flat style and then couldn't revert back to Raging Ribbons without the fonts from Super Flat remaining. I was seeing a mix of the two styles. However, I sorted out the problem by selecting default fonts and then altering them back again with the CSS editor.

The problem is now solved, but I am still annoyed that I cannot use the features in the Super Flat style (which is why I tried changing to this style) which has many more font choices. I am going to stick to Raging Ribbons, but I hope that Your team will add more font choices to the site header, as like many people I can't use the style designer.

Thanks for letting me know how to turn off the style designer - I'll deactivate it now!

Hi Mark

We would like to make the Style Designer available to everyone and we really hope that as many people as possible will make use of our new styles. However, there is no way to guarantee that people with existing, highly customized sites will be able to do so without negatively and unpredictably affecting custom code and inline formatting on their sites. The variations are almost infinite and there simply is no way to predict and accommodate them all from our side. The Style Designer will work great on any new site that is created. It will also work well if you are able to set up your desired formatting in the Style Designer and then remove any inline formatting or custom code from your existing site. However, we do understand that this is a significant time investment for people with large sites such as yours so we have made it possible for you to experiment with the Style Designer but have the option to disable it if it negatively impacts your site in a way that you cannot easily correct.
