How do I create a slideshow that starts automatically when someone goes to my web page? I thought Slide.com did that, but no such luck.

Thanks, Yolafan!

It looks very good. Now why can't I display one of the pictures I downloaded to Yola? I am using the address of "http://www.mywebsite.org/resources/fi..." In the past, this address has worked at displaying pictures.

Any idea why this address does not work with the Myspace code???

Hello GW Batch,

It could be that your pictures have not been cached on the browser. As a little trick, anytime I add a new photos to my File Manager, I click on the "Publish to the web" button to ensure the newest files are cached on the browser. I hope that does the trick for you!

Thanks for the suggestion, Sanja. That certainly sounds like the problem.

Hello GW Batch,

There are 2 Alternatives to Slide galleries that are pretty easy to implement.

Flickr and Picasa slideshows.

Here is how to add a Flickr slideshow to your site:

  1. Go to Flickr Slideshow.

  2. On your Flickr account, open up your photostream page and copy the web page address from the address bar. (e.g. www.flickr.com/photos/yourwebpagename) and paste into first box on the flickrslideshow page.

  3. Enter the tags if you have a collection of specific photos you want to use.

  4. Determine the slideshow width & height.

  5. Click on "Create Slideshow".  If it works, you should see your photos come up in the preview.

  6. Copy the HTML code provided and paste into an HTML Widget on your Sitebuilder.

  7. Save and republish your site.

You can use Picasa Web Albums to create a Flash slideshow to embed in your site. Each slideshow features built-in playback controls, size options, and the ability to display captions.

To create and embed a slideshow:

  1. Sign in to your Google Account for Picasa Web Albums using your Google Account username and password.

  2. Click the "My Photos" link and select the album you'd like to make a slideshow.

  3. Click on the "Link to this album" - at the right of your screen.

  4. Then click the "Embed Slideshow" link. This creates a Flash slideshow from the album you've selected. When you update this album, your slideshow is automatically updated to show the latest photos.

  5. To embed the slideshow, copy and paste the HTML code that's shown into an HTML Widget on your webpage.

I hope this helps.
