Slideshow Frustration

Very frustrated with slideshows. I am capable of creating my own slideshow through software, but unfortunately Yola does not allow upload. This may be my breaking point with Yola. I am a photographer and so far I am having to use Photobucket and Zoho for slides and presentations. Both have their logos in place. I have also tried slide.com. I understand why they put their logos in place. but I do not wish to ise them. This doesn't appear very professional to me and I am looking for other alternatives. I do not wish to pay for another service to remove logos when I have already purchased software that does what I am asking. My main reason for choosing Yola is because it is simple with no HTML code writing required. I am not HTML savy! And I do not have time to learn as I wish to focus on my photography not building a website. Please help!

Hello turtle0719

Would you be able to share with me which slideshow program you are trying to use? I may be able to help you with this. I am sure that we can find a solution that will work.

Thank you for your patience as we work on this together.

I am currently using photobucket and zoho. I am not picky about which one if we can get the logos off.

Thank you for any help.

Actually photobucket is better for me because it plays automatically. Zoho has to be clicked through. If any of the others play automatically that will work too. Thanks.

Hello Turtle0719,

You can find samples of embed codes for Photobucket here: http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid...

Your code will look like:

<div style="width:540px; text-align: center;"><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://w277.photobucket.com/pbwidget....; height="360" width="540"><a href="http://photobucket.com/scrapbooks&quot; target="_blank"><img src="http://pic.photobucket.com/slideshows...; style="float:left;border-width: 0;" ></a><a href="http://s277.photobucket.com/albums/kk...; target="_blank"><img src="http://pic.photobucket.com/slideshows...; style="float:left;border-width: 0;" ></a></div>

And you can find it by looking on the right hand side of your Photobucket gallery/Album where it says: "Share this album" and then selecting "HTML"

You can then add this to your Yola site using an HTML widget that you can drag onto your page.

I hope this helps.

Hi Jeremy,
I know how to get a code for slideshow from Photobucket and all the other slide sites. What I want is a slide that doesn't have logos from photobucket or any other company other than mine! look at my site and you will see. I understand that you can pay to have them remove but I will not do that when I have the ability to make my own because of purchased software. I want someone to tell me how to get rid of the logos in the HTML or that Yola has decided to let users upload their own slideshows. I this can't happen I will have to find another hosting site. This is a vital element to a Photography website!

Thanks for trying, but no help.

Hi, Turtle0719,

Pardon me for jumping in here, but can you tell us what purchased software you have? It may be possible to still use it depending on what it is.

Also, here is a very simple slideshow generator: http://www.ricocheting.com/code/javas...

Simply choose the options you want, type in the urls for your images, click on generate the code. Copy and paste the code into an HTML widget on your site. There is no logo.

If you want something fancier, there are lots of free codes out there but you would need to have Yola Silver for them as they do have js files. They can be tricky to implement but it can be done. Here is a link to an article with a wide variety of codes: http://vandelaydesign.com/blog/web-de...

I hope this helps.

Hi DIane,

I have several, actually. The one I use the most is photoshop. I also have Corel, Picasa (free), Microsoft PPT, and Sony software. I have been away to do and have not had an opportunity to try the generator you recommended. I will do so this evening and this may solve my issue completely.

I do have Yola Silver, so I will also check out the vandelaydesign site.

Thank you

This may be a stupid question, but I honestly know nothing about website building. I just know what I want the site to look like.

Where do I get the URL for the photo?

The Vandelay site, is really to complicated for me at this time. I love soem of the ideas, but the downloads required and all the codes just make no sense to me.

Still need help, please

Hi, Turtle0719,

Not a stupid question at all!! The url for your image once you upload it to the File Manager will look something like this: resources/yourimage.jpg

If you have it in a folder it will look like this: resources/folder/yourimage.jpg

These are case sensitive so type carefully.

Yes, the stuff on Vandelay is advanced. The code generator is pretty easy though. Let us know if you need further help.

One further note: You may need to publish the site before the pictures will show up.
