Hello Brightside,

You have downloaded the file from the demo? or purchased the product?

You have to open the downloaded HTML file with a text editor like notepad and copy the code.
Paste this code into an HTML placeholder by dragging the HTML holder from the sidebar onto your page ( the blue sphere icon) and then pasting the code copied.

That's the installation of the engine so to speak.

You have access to the photos that are being used within the code..

You need to upload the photos into your File Manager and when there you then must go into your HTML code and type their location into the appropriate place in the format: resources/{my folder}/photo.jpg [resources is the default name for your site builders file manager; {my folder} is an optional heading if you have created extra folders within the "resources" file manager; photo.jpg is a name to illustrate your photo(s), i presume that they are in "jgp" format. if not then you would type the format type of the photos.

It's quite an involved process until you get your head around it. Then you will be placing slideshows all over the place.

If you have the purchased version I think tat during the setup of a new slideshow somewhere in the dialogues it would ask you for the location of the photos used but that is not for the demo as far as I can tell. This makes the setup somewhat easier as you don't have to search through the code to find the place to edit the code

Hi Peter,

thanks for the information thats much appreciated, I was trying to run the demo version to see if it worked on synthasite before I purchase it.

Are you saying it will work and be easier with the purchased full version.

Thanks once again.

I'm not quite sure as I haven't used it. My experience is based on other slideshow generators and these tend to have a little more user input at the front end rather than having to do it at the coding level.

This generator uses tags that I am not familiar with, I think I understand them but a babe in the woods on this generator.

I think that the Anvo soft product is currently the easiest to use and you can use your own photos for running the free version. http://www.photo-flash-maker.com. The outcome is identical.

Hi Brightside,

Have you considered using Slide? These are the steps for creating a slideshow with Slide:

1) Open the 'widgets' folder.
2) Drag and drop a Slide widget onto your page.
3) Click on the link in the dialogue box and you will be taken to [slide.com](http://www.slide.com).
4) Create your slideshow using the steps Slide provides.
5) When you are happy with it, copy the HTML embed code and paste it into the dialogue box in SynthaSite.

Thanks Peter & Keshnee,

The main attraction for mono slideshow was the ability to make it any size you want, can I do this with photo-flash-maker or slide.

Many thanks.

Iain,

Unless you plan to generate lots of slideshows I wouldn't purchase a generator. There are enough Freebies around and they're reasonable.

Kershnee has mentioned Slide and I use this also but it is very "kitchy" which may not matter. it depends on your application.

One snippet of information I have found very valuable is that 67% of users universally use a screen width of 1268 Pixels. I think only 5 % use a 1400 pixel wide screen and the balance is pretty well the 800 pixel width. This can be used to maximal effect if you want your show to show from edge to edge. there's a caveat here with that being the useable width of the selected template.
