Slow loading, consistently horrible experience with Aviary - go back to the way things were or find a different partner.

I must agree that Yola is beginning to get frustrating. It used to be simple, efficient, quick and stylised. Now after becoming a silver member I feel things have gotten slower, the picture editor is horrendous, doesn't register changes, discolours when cropping for example and cannot do simple tasks. Loading thumbnails is so slow it takes days before I get to see my uploaded pics, and sometimes it just needs to be reloaded. This is a really bad user experience and I'm hardly pressing the envelope on functionality yet. Yola please do something or you'll force me go somewhere else.

Hi SS,

It really is unfortunate that the Aviary experience is less than what we as users need for this function. Picnik was good but they moved out of the game.

The best way to handle images at this time is to use an independent image manipulation program. There are a number of them ranging from online to download facilities and there's enough free versions to give a good choice. I have used Photoshop Online, GIMP (download), Photoshop, Pixlr an online facility and there are a lot more. All these give really superb quality images after manipulation and better than Picnik as well. It is worthwhile trying a couple.

Hi SS,

To add on to what Gop explains above, we just want to clarify that we only made the change from Picnik because they closed in April. Aviary is the service many applications who used Picnik (including Flickr) selected to implement. We agree they are not yet to the same level that Picnik was but we're confident they will continue to improve upon their feature set. In the meantime, the advice Gop gives you regarding other services is your best bet at the moment if Aviary is not meeting your needs.

When I edit pictures with Avairy or whatever. I click apply and save and then the picture goes black and I can't see it. I tried to take the picture off and re-upload it. But after I edited and cropped it it went black again. It's starting to REALLY annoy me. Having second thoughts about this site.
