It sounds like this is a question for Synthasite. You've posted in the customer community for Get Satisfaction. I'll move your topic to Synthasite's customer community.

Hi Elegofyore,

Could you let us know how it is slow to edit - is it slow to load in the Site Builder or do making the changes take a long time?

I checked out your home page and it did take some time to download for me.
What could be happening is that any pictures you have on your page have a really large file size. This can cause delays in opening, saving, previewing and publishing. This is how to fix that problem:
- click on the 'File Manager' button
- click on 'Edit with Picnik', you will go through to the photo editing site, Picnik.com
- once in Picnik, click on 'Resize' (make sure the 'keep proportions' button is selected)
- change the size to something smaller
- click on ok and then 'Save to SynthaSite'

If the picture is too big to load with Picnik, rather change the file size on your PC and re-upload using the File Manager.

I hope that helps - please let us know if you have any other questions.

I currently have this issue with live and edit mode. Partial issue says waiting for widget server.

Another time it says waiting for synthasite.

Also in combination with these, I'm trying to get multiple scripts running on the same page, but they are calling two different script files.

At on point, 2 different scripts that do basically the same thing worked at the same time for a brief second, so I thought I would use the easier script that calls a file. Then only one script worked, so I switched it back to the previous so on of each was there, but only one works now.

I thought I'd mention this because of what I'm working on and don't know if it's related or not.

What I'm trying to get working on the same page is
<!--
<script type="text/javascript" src="resources/tip_of_the_day/HHHTips.txt"> </script>

-->

It should be working the difference between this script and the second instance is the txt file it calls.

Any ideas? Working on it right now on index page @
http://homeandhobbyhelpfulls.synthasi...

quote of the day and tip of the day script is what they are for.

Hello,

This is most likely because of the Javascript. Although it is possible to add Javascript via the HTML widget to your site, this should be done with caution and we can't guarantee what code will work, and what code will cause errors.

When adding Javascript it is best to experiment on a test site to see the result rather than adding it directly to your real site.

Regards,
Emmy

This confuzzles me bc of JS-Kit. The rating and scoreing service can have multiple alike scripts on same page, and will configure with the navigator on the home page.

How can one js script work multiply...mutiplee...lol whats the plural on that.... on one page, and not another js script?

I was even testing this 2 outside source servers... i give an example

A friend of mine can get the script to work twice on his but he changed them to .JS extension like they were originally intended..... http://liqua.com/

this is on synthasite
I cannot upload .js files so i changed them ...the .JS to .txt files. NOW, one still works but not the other on the same page. After knowing he got it to work, I FTP the .JS files to a temporary spot I have access to, and set the place to call the file, and then neither one worked.

And this is where I'm at right now...two spots empty other than text saying, quote of the day and tip of the day....

Why not able to upload .JS extentions? If it's a security thing I would think you have stuff to detect malicious code and what not?!?!

I really enjoy using yola but, I noticed your thread says you are currently having tech. difficulties. Is this why when I drag items in the editor: text, widgets, etc.
it says "loading component" but, never loads onto the page? Thanks, Dustin

Hello Dustin,
I'm sorry that you are having trouble adding widgets to your page. We are not currently experiencing any technical difficulties; but if you could try a few things for me and then try again this might help:

1. Clear your browser's cache. This link has more information: Clear your browser's cache.

2. Try loading the site in a different browser (eg. Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer). We would suggest using the Firefox browser as this browser seems to work best in the Yola environment. It is a free download if you would like to give it a try: Download Firefox.

3. Please check to see that you have the latest version of Flash installed, for more information please click here: aVersion Test for Adobe Flash Player.

After trying this, give the widgets another try and then let us know if you are still having trouble.

Kind Regards,
Emmy

Hi. I was using yola editor last night and it just stopped working. I was using mozilla 1.9 something. I updated to the new 3.5 just now and still the same problem. It gets stuck when loading a widget. I've went thru all the steps and even tried it with explorer. I hope I can figure this out soon, I can't wait to keep building. What next?

Hello Dustin

Often when updating your Firefox, you may need to also update your Adobe Flash player. Can you please try this as well. Please also try going through the steps one more time that Kershnee posted above such as clearing your cache. You could also try clearing your cookies as well. Please let us know how this goes.

I found that my other sites will allow editing. The site I'm having trouble with is because I'm using multiple mp3 players. That's why it never loads. Do you know how I could put alot of music players on my site that play music from the Url where they are located?

I deleted some widgets on my page and things started working again. I reloaded a couple widget and it locked up again saying "loading component" indefinitely. My page is very bare with this limited use.

Hi Dustin,

Apologies for the frustration you're feeling. We are definitely looking into your problem!

Sometimes, finding the solution is not always immediate. For instance, it seems that your problem is specific to your site, which means that it needs a specific solution :)

Could you give me the URL of the actual site that you are having problems with?

We'd love to get to the bottom of this!

Hi Dustin,

I've spent quite a bit of time on your site and it would seem the problem is quite a simple one.

Basically, some widgets (like a text widget) don't have to go find information on the internet as the site loads in order for them to work- others do (like mp3 players that need to reference a URL and then draw that mp3 information into the site so that it's ready to play.)

There are quite a lot of these on one page and it would seem like it's far to much for the browser/internet connection/etc to load all of these mp3 players and then add more on top of it. For instance, it seems, that when a user opens the "KLMNO" page, the page has to upload an enormous 32MB of data just to load. That's a lot.

I would suggest using links to the audio files instead of mp3 players, if you need to have multiple songs listed on one page. Randy's method on the previous thread we spoke on is a really good one and I'm sure he would be willing to share information with you... Adding Music with Synthasite
