Hi Mkr,

I am sorry that you are not able to verify your site. Did you publish your website after you placed the code on your pages.? It is only necessary to place the code on your index page.

What is the error message that you are getting back from Google Webmaster?

Regards,

Charlene

Copy the meta tag listed below and paste it in your site's home page in the first section of the page, before the first section. Help

Hi mkr,

Can you post your website's address?

If you've added the code to your index page, republished your website by clicking on "Update my Site", you can go back to Google Webmaster and ask to reverify your site. Please could you give that a try and let us know if you still get the error message from Google?

Hi Marije
Thank you I have tried again and still not verifying.
What did you mean by "Can you post your website's address?"

When you updated your site by clicking on the "Update my Site" button, a dialog box will have opened telling you that it's been done. You'll also be able to see what your address is (eg. yoursite.synthasite.com). You can also find your published site's address by clicking on the Site Manager tab - there will be a blue link with your site name, click on it and you will be taken to your published website.

If you haven't published your site (you'll see a yellow "Publish my Site" button on the SynthaSite toolbar), this could be the reason why it's not working as your site needs to be published!

Hello mkr,
Do you have a vista or xp.
Here's instructions on how to take a snapshot if you have vista;

In Vista (except in Home Basic), there is a tool called the Snipping Tool.
To open it, click on the start menu, type 'snip', then hit enter.
The Snipping Tool opens, and a white mask is applied on the screen. In the drop-down menu for the 'New' button, choose from a free-from snip, rectangular snip, window snip, or full-screen snip.
In free-form snip mode, draw around the area you want to be captured. Drag a rectangle in rectangular snip mode. For window snip mode, select the window you want to capture. In full-screen mode, just selecting it from the drop-down menu makes the capture.
The snipped image is then opened within the Snipping Tool, but is also
copied to the Windows clipboard for use in other applications.

I've just answered your email in support - when I visit your site (www.kwyattphotography.com), I get directed to a placeholder page with Crazy Domains. In order for your domain to work with your site on SynthaSite, you need to change some settings on your domain so that it points to SynthaSite. Then you'll be able to successfully verify your site with Google Webmaster!

We have a tutorial outlining the steps to configuring your domain, giving two popular domain name registrars as examples: http://www.synthasite.com/tutorials/p....

There are also instructions on how to use ZoneEdit if your domain name registrar does not provide you with domain name management. However, most domain name registrars can assist you with an A record, in which case you would not need to use a third party service like ZoneEdit.

These are general instructions on how to configure your domain to point to SynthaSite. If you require specific help with the interface of your domain name registrar, please contact them for support.

How to configure a domain name you already own:

1. Log in to your chosen domain registrar (eg. GoDaddy.com, Register.com).
2. Go to the DNS Management page.
3. Set up an A Record.
4. The IP address of your record must point to: "208.75.208.172"

Please note that it can take up to 48 hours (although usually less) for these changes to take effect and you need to contact your domain registrar if you need help in that regard. Feel free to forward any instructions you receive from them to us so that we can advise you further.

Once you have configured your DNS settings, click the yellow "Publish My Site" button in SynthaSite, "I already own a domain name". Fill in your domain name and follow the prompts to publish your site.

Once your site is published to your domain the hard part is over and you will be able to edit your site and then update it with a single click.
